Well, this scene let us know that they had a plan and the victim's were not random. I don't think I made any other deductions from this chapter.
It didn’t help much beyond what you stated, Robin. I knew they were targeted but had no clue as to the victims’ connections. And, I thought both were a little crazy.
It was fairly obvious that the female was the "brains" behind the murders. It was confusing early on to realize that the targets were the male's, however. I wondered what motivated her at the beginning.
We know there were two of them, but the investigators didn't know that until later. They were organized and the torture was insidious and unusual. I got the feeling this wasn't their first victim. I also wondered about motivation, but figured the story would reveal that in due course.
I agree with Anita, you could tell this wan't their first kill. I really didn't think past the fact that there were 2 killers and that the victims who part of a plan.
