SOLVED. Romance about an abused Heroine. [s]

Read this book about 2 years ago and only remember parts of the story. Heroine was abused in her past and has PTSD from it, she has two best friend a guy and a girl who she is really close to. I think she was roommates with the guy and he also has a history of abuse, I remember her talking about how when they first became friends he tried to sleep with her because that was the only way he new how to show affection. The heroine also kept a jar of origami stars that had fun quotes in them to cheer her up. I don't remember how the hero and the heroine actually meet, but do remember a scene where she hung out with his friends and her friends at the beach and she got thrown in the water as a joke but it triggered a panic attack from a memory of being drowned. I believe this was a dual POV book.
