Lara Jean is having the best senior year.

I... didn't hate this?? But to be fair I also finished the third 50 shades book today so I'm pretty sure the back of a shampoo bottle would have fed me just as well

I felt like this just... wasn't necessary? I feel bad saying that but at the end of the day if I'd only read books 1 and 2 I don't think I would have missed much.

I think the part I like is the family bits and Lara jean is just so cute? Like her and her sisters and the thing with her father's wedding and her stepmother was just pretty wholesome

It's super cute that Lara Jean and Kitty are excited for their dad to be married and not angry or resentful

Chapter 9 (view spoiler)[ So, when I started reading the series, I thought I would hate it. Ugh, guilty pleasure I do! Now to the actual book.
Thus far, it is pretty good but somewhat predictable. I thought she wouldn't get into UVA, which sucks, but I think it is necessary for her to grow. Her and Peter are very attached, and sometimes I feel she doesn't let herself be who she is meant to be. Like Margo said, she needs to make her own friends. I love how much she loves to bake, and hope that she makes the perfect chocolate chip cookie. I have been looking up recipes trying to find the best recipe. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ I liked it. It was a nice break from the heavy science fiction I have been reading of late. I have always thought that Lara Jean was a little bossy and a little too controlling, Peter is very devoted, and I don't always think Lara appreciates them. Lara and Peter go through a lot together and lara jean grows a lot in this book. There were happy and sad moments and it of course ended happy. I wish we heard a bit about the trip to Korea to see how distance worked for Lara and Peter. There were a few other things I wanted, but it was good overall. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ the death of Stormy I thought would be more instrumental in this book. Lara Jean< I guess, like lots of teenagers gets caught up in her own life. After getting the ring, she doesn't go back and then Stormy passes away. She didn't really tell her dad or anything or even consider going. I would think she would have considered going to pay her respects more despite the distance. Having a memorial service was nice, but this too seemed self-centered and self-gratifying. What was the point? What did anyone learn? (hide spoiler)]

A few last thoughts unrelated:
(view spoiler)[ What was the point of her dad's relationship? Things seemed to move quickly. Was it solely so Kitty would have a mother figure. Yes, the father liked her, but there didn't seem to be much of a relationship between any of them. The adults seem irresponsible at times, and to overbaring at others.

Going to the beach, what was this supposed to be? Why did Larajean want to lose her virginity then? Why was that the right time? Why did she take Peteer's mothers word to heart? Is there something she feels that she wont say. She really becomes Peters other half instead of the two of them becoming one. LaraJean is expected to transfer, and while Peter brings this idea up to his mom, is he really serious? Does Peter want something different? (hide spoiler)]

I agree. LOL that whole new contract thing had me half smiling and half like ugh, why isn't this just a thing?

I think their own college thing is a great idea for them both to explore themselves, find themselves but also keep each other. I would love to see Kitty as a teenager, but would also be frighten at the prospect! She is going to be something else.
