hero breaks things off with heroine

The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry is quite like that. There's a lot of drama with their relationship because he has past family trauma/ abandonment issues + issues with his wife. He acts like a bit of an a-hole and has to win the heroine back a couple times (both early on and later in the story) but the thing I liked about it was that the heroine didn't just roll over and deal with the hero treating her badly like you see in a lot of romance novels; the hero had to own up to his mistakes and win her back and grow as a person. I'm making it sound really serious but actually the author dealt with the issues and the hero's trauma in such a tender way and it's such a fun and sweet story, and it's a HEA. I'm not even a big het romance fan but this one has really stayed with me for some reason so I'd really recommend it.
