Theresa | 25 comments I'm sorry I did not do well. If you do it next year I will try again.:)

message 3: by Mela (new)

Mela (melabooks) | 4 comments I have joined the group late and I have read only Moll Flanders and Robinson Crusoe. The next time I hope to read more books from the period.

Alisha (alishad) | 27 comments I did well! I read all the books I intended to, and though most of them were a bit ho-hum, my final read, Traits of Nature by Sarah Burney, was SO MUCH FUN and I recommend it! It was such a lively and pleasant read, and I will definitely be checking out more stuff by the author!

Also, I’m still in the midst of Austen’s Emma, doing a slow reread in preparation for the new movie. Enjoying the writing as always!

Lana, which was your favorite of these?

message 7: by Ophelia (new)

Ophelia (ophelia_lyra) I didn’t do too well either. I couldn’t get into Evelina as I hoped I would. However I read Phantasmion by Sara Coleridge, which I really liked. I also read some of William Blake's Songs of Innocence and of Experience, which I really enjoyed. I’ve already known and liked pieces of his work in the past. So, I’m definitely going to keep reading this one.

I’m not going to abandon my list, though. I'll keep reading, until I've picked up every title on my Georgianuary list this year. And I’ll be joining next year if we're going to continue Georgianuary.

Thanks for creating and hosting this, Froggles!

Theresa, I really loved Northanger Abbey, but I also enjoyed The Monk, especially because I combined physical book and the audiobook narrated by Nicolas Boulton who has an amazing voice, and is probably the best narrator I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

message 9: by Tania (new)

Tania | 34 comments I really enjoyed The Monk too, though I read it in November before I knew of this, so I can't count it. :)
I did read Evelina which I really enjoyed, I had a copy of this for years, so I'm glad to have had the push to finally read it. I did start The School for Scandal: A Comedy, but hadn't the time for it in the end. Hopefully I can pick it up later.
I would also happily join in again next year if this happens again.

Northanger Abbey was just okay for me but I have not read The Monk yet so maybe I could get to that soon.

Rebekah Giese Witherspoon (rebekahgw) | 3 comments I enjoyed Georgianuary! I finished the LibriVox audiobook of The Fortunate Foundlings by Eliza Haywood, beautifully narrated by Helen Taylor. My review is here.

I also read almost half of the gigantic but lighthearted The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling by Henry Fielding during the month of January and I am absolutely loving it! I'm continuing my read during the month of February.

Thanks so much for hosting this lovely group, Froggles! I would love to do another Georgianuary in 2021. :)

message 12: by Lorna (new)

Lorna | 17 comments I had a wonderful Georgianuary, thank you so much to Froggles for moderating and inviting me. I gladly revisited Walter Scott by enjoying Waverley. I enhanced my holiday in the Lake District by reading Dorothy Wordsworth's journals. I think enjoyed the poetry most of all though, by rereading Robert Burns - particularly Tam O'Shanter and discovering John Donne's wonderful poetry for the first time!

message 13: by April (new)

April | 16 comments I only read Evelina, but that was all I planned to read. I'm so glad that I finally read it after looking at it on my shelf for years. I'm looking forward to next year.
