Stupid Question

Can someone please explain to me what the "Flag" button is to be used for ?
Is it to report abuse or to get the attention of mods and super librarians concerning book issues, or both, or what ... sorry ... I almost used it but then was afraid to because I wasn't sure of its proper use.

Flagging will not bring anything to the attention of librarians, and should not be used for books needing fixing.

Flagging is for items which you believe violate Goodreads policy (or may) and wish to bring to the attention of Goodreads staff.
