Is it a book about vegan ideology? Maybe a novel with an animal rights slant or a veg character?

Shannon Lionheart | 5 comments I read The Pig Who Sang to the Moon The Emotional World of Farm Animals by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson The Pig Who Sang to the Moon: The Emotional World of Farm Animals not long after going vegetarian it reaffirmed my decision. I tried several times to go vegan as a tween and teen but I lived in a tiny town in Arkansas, the products that are easily available today were not when I was younger. I recently visited my hometown and although the selection is better than 15 years ago, not by much.

Luckily my dad was retired from the Air Force and once a month, we would go to the commissary, (military grocery store) and I was able to get some products. We were not rich and did not have slot of room to store my frozen meat products so I wasn’t ever able to stock up per say but, my dad was also thoughtful and supportive in my choice.

I would be vegan for two or three weeks at a time for years but. I would be at a sleepover or party and eat cheese type products. As soon as I moved to the city I went full vegan.

Also the book and movie Babe The Gallant Pig by Dick King-Smith Babe: The Gallant Pig honestly that movie changed my life, the way I viewed animals. After watching it I announced that I was going vegetarian, never looked back.
