In the book, the heroine arrives at the home of the hero. She stands up to him even though he is supposed to be tough. She gets in a contest with his warrior group and beats them. They are shocked. She is from the human world and her mother was killed when she was a child. She had to live with a grandmother or great aunt that hated her and wouldnt let her be the free spirit she is. She has uniques powers that manifest in the first book and continue on through the series. Some books in the series are more about her than they are about the heroine and hero of the new book. In the course of the series, she travels to a vampire lair to make piece woth the vampires and to a fae world to make piece with the fae. She and her husband and friends work to uncover a mystery that leads to her mothers death and her true parentage.
