I enjoy a complete overview on one page as it used to be before the recent changes. For example: “Currently Reading” “Read” “Want to Read” etc. I also find it hard to keep track of books I have reviewed on this new version.

I would like the starting date and finishing date for the book I am reading to automatically post. I can then see how fast I read the book. I find Goodreads a great tool in keeping me informed about the most recent additions to my preferred genre.
I have just joined and am feeling my way around. I am an author and hope to promote my book. I am also an advocate for reading, especially for children. Finding my way around the site is very time-consuming. Can't be specific but still trying to set up my authors page. I would like more directed links from the guidelines to the set up boxes. Thank you for helping us. Cheers. Stay well
I enjoy the facility it offers to reflect on what I have just read and to put the reflection into some coherent words. Equally I relish the chance to read how other people react to the same text. I don't attend a real reading-group anymore as I reckon that reading a book takes several hours of my life and democratic group choices subject me to spending too much time on books I'm not interested in. With Goodreads I keep control of what I read yet also receive some feedback from others. Occasionally its interesting to review what I've read and enjoyed ( or not) but I don't bother with a lot of the gimmicks.
Primarily three reasons:- keeping track of the books I have read.
- Wisdom of the crowd - the suggestings for the new books to read. Also within genres.
- The user-ratings of the books.
Goodreads has become the perfect tool for me to keep track of everything book-related, from my reading habits and diversions, other people's recommendations by way of their reviews, to new titles and author events. In addition, on a more psychological terrain, it prompts me to hold myself accountable for the reading challenges I set myself, and I am all the more successful in my reading (by number as well as stretching beyond my typical) as a result.
