ABANDONED. Thriller/mystery book, about a guy in high school who is an author

I read this book probably 8 years ago now and i have no idea what it is. It was about a guy in high school who is an author but writes under a different name, he has a crush on this girl, his writing teacher loves him. He ends up going away with her to a cabin to finish writing a book. Its all kind of blurry, but it was such a good book. I really appreciate any help. Ive googled for days!
