Rawan | 3 comments A book about a girl who’s mother is a plant magical creature but forgot (since she’s been away from her magical forest place for too long) and has to take a magic kind of potion medicine to help her memory a little. The girl (main character) is named Lily and she joins a school academy place where she meets a were tiger named Tye. In one scene the main character (lily) finds out/spies on humans (I think they’re knights that are part of the academy) draining a unicorn of all it’s “blood”/magic concentrate (which makes the moms “medicine”, then discarding the corpse. She tells Tye, and they go to this area and find jars full of the magic concentrate. Together, they discover what the school/academy has been doing to magical creatures (ie draining them of their blood (that makes the magic potion stuff). The academy is split kind of... and there is increasing tension between magical creatures and humans. Magical creatures keep disappearing and they blame humans who say they have nothing to do with it.
At the end, they find out that the father of one of the characters killed Tye’s mother (who also ended up his own wife) because she got with a tiger magical creature and had Tye (technically Tye is half tiger half human). They also find out that Lily’s grandmother (also a plant magical creature) has believed that her daughter is dead and that humans caused it. They brought her mother back so she could be healed/her memory restored even a little.
