Jocelyn (veganlitchick) | 3 comments If this is building to a supernatural ending, I don’t think I’ll like the ending. I think the dark web plot is strong enough on its own that the mirrors/Sandman/Samaritan shouldn’t be supernatural. Honestly, the reality of the dark web is terrifying! I don’t really know anything about CJ Tudor, though, does she tend to have supernatural twists??

Anika | 13 comments I agree with Jocelyn.

I am still liking the book at this point, but PLEASE don't there be a supernatural twist!

Nadja | 22 comments I agree, that Steve was most likly the one attacking Gabe.
My Theory: Samaritan saved Gabe back in the days to use him to lure Fran out of hiding. And that he was the one attacking her at the lake.
I'm not quiet sure what to think of Maddock...

Heidi (heidilovesbooks) | 4 comments Just finished chapter 44. Can't stop reading. Need to find out what happens with Izzy, Katie, Gabe. Will Fran wake up? How could Harry lie about Izzy?
I don't trust the Samaritan. He is somehow involved with the other people. He showed the car to Gabe so Fran could come out from hiding.
What about Miriam? Could she be the one who set off all of this and contacted the other people?
Can't wait to finish and find out!
Kudos to the group creators for starting this group and choosing this great book as its first.

Zahraa Maytham | 5 comments I think all the events that occured in these chapters were too obvious! I'm waiting for some huge plot twist to change my opinion now! I'm still waiting to find out about the meaning of the pebbles and the mirrors and who is the samaritan?
Hope there will be some satisfying explanation. I have a feeling that it will take a supernatural turn.

The story is really engaging and though I do still hate the writing style, I am hooked and I can't wait to finish it!

Gisela (sofaqueen21) I think these chapters are leading to a smooth end. A lot has happened and more things have been discovered and I can't wait to see where all this is leading us to.
I am not sure who contacted the other people but I am guessing it was Harry and/or his wife. I think Fran contacted the other people before (maybe to discover who killed her father) and she was paying her debt back, but changed her mind.
The Samaritan still gives me weird vibes.

Natasha (myreadingisodd) | 1 comments WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE PEBBLES WHAT DOES IT MEANNNNN

Eugenia Tellechea (euget) | 1 comments This book was meant to be devoured in hours.
I hope everything wraps up smoothly
My main questions:
1. Sandman??
2. What about the things Alice/Izzy sees?
3. who is this Samaritan guy and how does he connect with Izzy, Gabe and Katie?
4. Also how did Fran get involved with The other people?

message 59: by Alesha (new)

Alesha (musicgal17) | 46 comments Yes! I was right about someone wanting revenge on Gabe. I had my suspicions at the last check point after it was revealed that he was supposed to be visiting the comatose girl. I figured he hit her as a drunk driving accident, although I didn't think he was as young as he was, and I thought he was just visiting her out of guilt not as terms of a sentence. But now I wonder who went after him since the mother of the girl clearly didn't?? And I was correct in that he was there when the murders took place.

Also, it's hard to believe anyone would be shocked at the Izzy=Alice twist, it seemed pretty obvious fairly early on. I also knew Fran was connected with owing a favor for the other people (probably through asking for revenge for her dad)... Who is the Samaritan?! Also the Sandman? And, how in the world is the supernatural mirror/pebble/beach twist going to tie in to the conclusion? Samaritan has to be connected to that somehow, doesn't he have a pebble for a tooth?

Excited to finish this one!

Megan (meganbookbird) | 13 comments I'm supposed to be going to the pub shortly but I can't put this damn book down! I think these last few revelations were a little more predictable, but I'm still so gripped. the choppy writing style and shorter chapters are so well suited to this story. I really hope this ties together in a satisfying way, and there's one or two more big revelations to blow my mind

message 61: by Angel (new)

Angel Sams | 7 comments A lot is happening but my only question is why the hell does no one want Gabe to have his daughter ? He seems to care soooo much but Izzy, I guess, doesn’t even remember she has a father or doesn’t care. The grandparents would have just picked up and left with Izzy and Gabe never would have seen her again and apparently that’s what Jenny would have wanted ??? I don’t get it.

Shellz (shellze9) | 4 comments Becca (Coffeebooksandjournals) wrote: "Does anyone else think the Samaritan and the sandman are the same person?"

I do. Been thinking that for a while. Haven't seen anything to chage that thought.

message 63: by RennyWest (new)

RennyWest | 50 comments To be honest I'm somehow starting to doubt that I'll be satisfied with the conclusion. Or at least I won't be satisfied with the explanation of the pebbles and Sandman.
btw at this point I think that the person who "ordered" the attack on Gabe's family was Jenny. Fran was included because she owed a favor to Other People (she wanted a revenge for her father). Samaritan is probably the one who organized this attack and is "helping" Gabe to prolong his suffering, but he believed that he's doing it for comatose Isabela's mother - he didn't know she died after all.

message 64: by Rina (new)

Rina (rina_p) | 35 comments Omg, the chapters flew! I didn’t even realise I went passed chapter 44 already. So my guess at this point is that the Samaritan = Sandman. Might even be = Steve, but personality sounded a bit different. Steve sounded quite erratic while Samaritan/Sandman was calculating and calm.

It was too bad about Fran, I wanted more from her!

message 65: by Kate (new)

Kate | 15 comments Loving this.. so many great twists and turns. A lot of Gabe's behaviour and past comes to light in this section. For example we learn why he didn't want to call his daughter Isabella, and we see that much of his life has been tormented. I was surprised that Steve attacked Katie. On the other hand, she seems to be street-smart and she thought there was something up with him, so, good instincts. I am on the edge of my seat, can't wait to see how this will end :)

message 66: by Louise (new)

Louise Freeman (weezreads) | 5 comments alot of questions starting to get answered now , alice is izzy (gabes daughter, fran has done something cuz they was after her not jenny , and gave visits the girl in the coma which he ran over as a teenager, cant wait to see how this ends , love this book

message 67: by Alison (new)

Alison | 1 comments i don't know if i read it wrong but when Gabe's car hit Isabelle she was collecting pebbles and shells. And now Alice(=Izzy) has a thing with pebbles so there must be a connection between the two Isabelles!!
