I. Love. This. Book. Every time I think I know where it’s going, new information is revealed. I feel really bad for doubting CJ Tudor, this whole book seems so deliberate and well thought out.
This book just keeps me guessing! Love how it’s all getting revealed one piece at the time. Theories? I don’t have any theories anymore 😂.
Maybe... Gabe did something that got someone killed (this was hinted on) - maybe even kill Katie’s dad? And the family joined the other people to get revenge on Gabe in form of killing his family but something didn’t go as planned because Fran got Isabel out and that’s why the other people hunted her? Idk how all the other puzzle pieces fit though.
All of these pieces are coming together but also there’s so much mystery around everything still. I still am the most curious about Alice and the pebbles though! Also, finding out that Fran and Katie are sisters was wild.
I have more questions than I did in the last part. I kind of like that in a book. As long as all my questions get answered in the end
I kind of feel bad chiming in when it's not positive but I'm not really enjoying this book so far. I kind of feel like it's too commercial or too.. Over the top maybe, the twists kind of just makes me roll my eyes. I hope it gets better though but I'm frankly not even too excited about reading on

So far I think its an okay story but I also hope it gets better
I have several predictions at the moment but I have a feeling I’m going to be wrong.

Okay. Officially can’t stop. I have so many theories!
Just got to chapter 30 and this book is so good! Every time I think I am on the right track and thing I know what could happen, there is new information given which completely throws me off.
I feel like i need more info for me to guess what happening. But the fact that Gab visti the girl in the hospital who i think is the "mirror girl" makes me think that they all are connected in some way. And since the cop stab Gab, i now know that the whole system is affected, im very exicted and cant wait to find out more.
I am a little disappointed that fran is dead, but i think that the samanteria / the man who told gab about the car and The other people, is so involved in all of this, and he wanted Gab to be involved, he just seem to know the right info, and i dont trust that.
And i think fran and katies mum is going to be killed by the police.
Most of the time reading this, I feel like I have no idea what’s going on?!?!? But....I can’t stop reading. I am having a great time trying to put the pieces together! I am enjoying everything about this book, so far!
Well that section just tossed many of my predictions out the window. Some on this thread are talking about not finding this engaging but I am hooked. I can’t figure out what is going on. My predictions keep changing which is what I love in a thriller! Gabe knowing the girl in the coma kind of threw me for a loop so I am confused. Can’t wait to keep reading.
Just finished this section of chapters. I was getting a little confused in some parts but chapter 29 put all in perspective. Have no idea where it is going though. Which is good!
Oh my goodness! What the heck is happening? So now we know Fran, Kate, and Lou are sisters. Fran said she did it to help dad? What does that mean. Did Fran get the Other People to kill their mother because she's a drunk and things got out of hand and her dad got killed? And what about Isabella in the hospital bed. I'm thinking Gabe is her father and somehow something he did caused her injuries but out of guilt he didn't tell Jenny about her. Was it Fran and Alice in the car that Gabe saw? Is Alice actually Izzy?
okay but what THE HELL is going on ??? Any time I think I have an inkling as to what is going on it gets pulled from beneath me like a rug ??? I’m loving this book so far. Truly a page turner. Started today at around 1:30pm and it’s currently 8:30pm. I’ll probably finish tonight, but definitely tomorrow. I’m so invested !!! So confused!!! So intrigued!!!
I just finished this section.... I thought I understood what was happening but I have no friggen idea - haha! All I know is that everyone is connected in someway. Fran possibly had her fathered killed and is in debt to The Other People or maybe she’s in debt and they’re killing her family? But what happened to the baby she was pregnant with? Or am I missing something completely?
Is Alice really Izzy? And how is the girl in the coma connected to Gabe? Which brings me to what happened the day Gabe was suppose to be at work? Where does he go and what does he do? And who the heck is the Samaritan?
I don’t even know how to formulate thoughts on this book, but I’m really enjoying it. :)
Just finished this section and all I can say is wow. I have no idea where the story is headed now but I love it. Finding out that Gabe knows the little girl in the coma really blew my mind. The fact that her name is Isabela and he didn’t want Jenny to name their daughter Isabella is really interesting. I feel like he has to be involved with how she ended up in the coma.
^ I agree with you, it was shocking to learn that. It would make sense as to why his family was targetted, he must have been involved somehow for sure.
Just got started and already on my second check in. I really don't want to put it down. I wasn't surprised to learn Fran was the elder sister, I am very curious what she did to get herself into this mess though.
Still not sure about the mirror situation but I have some theories.
VERY interested in what Gabe plans to tell the DI and also what happens if he misses visiting hours.
Going to have to continue even though I should be going to sleep.

Just reading chapter 17 now. Theory: Does anyone think that it is odd that Gabe was never able to see the bodies? Then, chapter 17 mentions the pills that Jenny's mother gave Gabe to calm his nerves before identifying them.
What if it wasn't to calm his nerves, but to make sure that he couldn't see the bodies?
Then again, what would be Evelyn's motive? Is she apart of the "Other People"?
I agree. I am thinking the Samaritan is not a real person. I was surprised to find out that Fran, Kate and Lou are sisters. I didn't see that coming. So far I am really liking this book.
I am really loving this book, I’m so engaged I love it. It just keeps releasing little bits of information and I am here for it!

This story keeps getting more twists and turns. I’m surprised to find out Fran, Katie and Lou are sisters. I always wondered how Katie was a part of this story other than just being the girl that waits on Gabe.
I’m guessing Fran is killing this person because she is part of “The Other People” and had made a request for someone to kill her fathers murderer. Now, she’s returning the favor. I’m curious to see if she ends up living. I’m also wondering where Alice will end up if not reunited with her mother.
I really want to know who Miriam is and if indeed the girl in a coma is Izzy.
I'm soooooo intrigued! I hardly put this book down, it is so good. Every discovery is a shocking experience and I just wonder how we still have half a book to go. I liked how Katie is involved now, with Fran being her sister. I'm sad that looks like Fran is dead now... BUT WHO IS HER KILLER? And who tipped her off about the car? Harry? Why is he involved in all of this? I WANNA KNOW OMG
Ok well all my old theories are completely out the window. I don't even know if I even have any new ones, I'm just trying to make sense of it all. One way or the other, I'm hooked for sure! I'm pretty sure Alice hired someone from The Other People to get revenge on whoever killed their dad, and whatever she's mixed up in has to do with whatever she has to do (or already did) in return. For everything else I have no idea. What is Gabe's criminal history and how does it relate to everything? Who is Alice really (Izzy?)? Who is the girl in the coma? Are Harry and Evelyn actually involved? Where actually is Izzy at this point? How is the Samaritan involved? Why did Gabe and Fran get attacked and was it the same person?
My mind and theories are all over the place here! Ok, Alice and Fran got a text “he knows”. Was it Harry sending the text? Harry, who may have covered up what really happened to Izzy and Jenny? Did Fran steal Izzy/Alice when maybe she lost her own child? Is Isabella in the coma maybe Gabe’s sister? Or a child from earlier on and he was ashamed to tell his wife? Is the Samaritan good or bad? He tells Gabe to stay away, but gives him information that leads him straight to them. And who is the “cop” that stabbed Gabe and took off with everything he had accumulated in his investigation? It’s obviously someone who doesn’t want him to find out what really happened. Also, who killed Fran? The Samaritan? The other people? Maybe Fran owes a debt to them that she refused to pay? Is that why she’s running? Must read on!! I am completely hooked and need to sleep at the same time 😊

I was so excited when I predicted that Fran was Katie and Lous sister. I wonder why Gabe got stabbed, and why he has another little girl named Isabella in the weird room and why Alice can see her. I really hope Fran is okay but unlikely. Who the heck is the Samaritan does anyone have a clue? Was there a purpose also for the mistake of Gabe saying Izzy's parents instead of Jenny's?? (maybe it was just an editing error) I can't wait to read the next part to see what other people are saying!

Okay, I am seriously loving this book! Holy cow! Gabe and coma girl...coma girl is either a familial relation, (sister maybe?) or someone he was in a relationship with that his wife had no clue about. Why else would he be guilty about naming his daughter after her?
Fran and Katie being sisters, WHOA! Not totally sure Fran is dead yet, my gut is telling me she’s not. My guess is Alice is going to find Katie somehow and they will stick together. Find Fran eventually? Not sure.
I think whomever it was that stabbed Gabe, also attacked Fran. And Fran killed that guy in the car?! She is way deeper in this than I ever thought.
So many other unanswered questions, can’t wait to read more!
My main questions are:1. Who is The Samaritan?
2. How do Fran and Katie relate to Gabe?
3. Is Izzy Alice?
4. Who is Mirror Girl? Traumatic memory or supernatural presence?
5. Are The Other People just a dark web group who do "tasks" for each other? Or is it supernatural?
Sorry, I had a thought that maybe it gets a bit weird and leans into horror or paranormal.
Every theory I've had has been blown to bits. I can't think of anything else to make this post more insightful. But I'm hooked.
Isabella in the coma is no longer a child. Miriam said she had been caring for her for 30 years.
Okay, so. How are all these people connected? Who was Gabe suppose to visit? Is Alice actually Izzy? Who is the woman in a coma because it can't be the daughter Isabella. What in the world is going on with sleeping Alice? I think lots of things but I don't want to be wrong. First guess is Fran is one of the other people, she asked a favor after the death of her parents. Her favor was to kill Gabe's family and she ended up deciding to save Izzy instead, renamed her and taught her to lie about who she is. They are on the run from the other people instead for not actually fulfilling her favor. Then she what happened in chapter 25 happened and I don't know where it will go from there and if she will be seen again. Anyways, I have so many questions and all of this is speculation because I am just on chapter 30 so this isn't spoilers. I just want to know how the father in law is involved because he clearly in some how. He is how the other people found out Gabe found the car, I bet... Back to reading!
I'm perplexed and not sure what's going on. Only that I'm into it! this section felt less light paranormal and more psychological thriller and repressed memories coming to the surface?
Oh God, all my theories? Gone.But I have new ones, yesss. So Harry is sketchy, I think he and Fran are keeping in contact, and that is how she knew Gabe found the car? At first I thought it was the Samaritan, but at one point she says she doesn't know how Gabe could have found the car in the marsh, so now my best guess is Harry.
So, Fran is Katie's sister, I have to say I didn't see it coming, but should have. And I think Isabella is actually Gabe's sister, but I still don't know how she is connected to Alice.
I, too, think that Katie will find Alice, and that Fran is not dead. And the most plausible speculation I have right now is that Fran owed a favor to The Other People after they accepted her request to kill(?) the person that killed her father, and that this favor had to do with Gabe. But why? And what of her real daughter? Ugh, I can't stop reading, I need to know more.
Okay, this is one gigantic puzzle and I’m loving it.
Ok. The first section (chapter 1-14) i had a hard time understanding/being interested in the book. This next piece (chapter 15-25) ok started to get a little more interesting.
Goodness, this is taking quite a turn.I had a hunch about The Other People being some kind of group that helps/preys on people who have lost someone. It seems like a familiar plot - maybe something along the lines of 13 Sins or Would You Rather (both films). Interesting though!
Not really sure about my theories, I'm coming back round to Alice being Izzy. No clue about the Isabella in a coma. Could it be Gabe's sister? There are a lot of sibling relations being unveiled. The Samaritan is some devil in disguise (perhaps with some supernatural motive?) and I think he's pulling the strings here. Maybe Gabe or someone in his family made some deal to keep Isabella alive and the price was Gabe's first born?
I might be taking the slight supernatural element too far here... Maybe "The Other People"-community is just a DarkWeb thing, nothing speculative about it.
I have so many questions and every time I think I'm getting answers, a new twist is revealed and I instantly have more questions! I neeedddd to know what's happening, I need all the answers. I CANNOT wait to see how this story wraps up. This book is literally taking over my life. As much as I want to find out how everyone's stories tie in, I also don't want this book to end because it's so freakin' good.1. Is Henry part of the Other People and he knows where Izzy actually went? Is he the Sandman? What the fuck?
2. How are the beach items (sand, pebbles, shells, water) related to the story?
3. Izzy must be in the coma, right?
4. Did Fran take Izzy because her daughter got taken by the Other People, and Fran's daughter is the girl that's really in the autopsy photos?
5. Are Katie and Gabe going to form a relationship because she saved his life, only to find out that her sister has Izzy (or knows something about her disappearance)?
