I read this story that might have been written by Ray Bradbury, but I'm not positive. It was a scene during a house party where a son and father are conversing and the father is worried about something causing the son to reassure him that everything is alright, there might also have been a sister they discuss. In a subtle way it's a role reversal, where the child needs to comfort the parent. I read this in a creative writing class and I remember we read Ray Bradbury but I'm not sure if this one was by him.
I read this in 2018 but I'm pretty sure the story was older.
I've looked through Bradbury's work and he does have a book about a father and son entitled Playground, but the plot doesn't seem to match up completely nor does it sound familiar.
