YA book; Hit and run driver feels guilty, sends $ to victim [s]

I read this paperback book sometime in the late 1980s. It was a RIF giveaway at elementary school. It was probably originally published late 1960's or early 1970's.

A high school student named Marilla has a job at a flower shop making deliveries in a van. One night she hits a young boy on a bike. I don't remember if she brings him to the hospital or not, but she feels very guilty afterwards and tries to find out his health status. She sends his family money in the mail to help with his recovery.

Marilla played golf at school, I think. I remember her boss was foreign and he rolled his "Rs" when he said her name. Marilla had a friend/boyfriend named Seth.

The young boy she hit reminded her of one of her younger brothers named Jimbo, who always over buttered his toast.

At the end she admits her crime, but doesn't go to jail. I think she does community service and she meets the victim at his home, and he is ok.
