tried searching (there is no ISBN # on this book) doesnt seems so. I've even tried searching "ancient alphabets"
The book is upside down in the picture, by the way. And it is Homer's Odyssey. It's not Greek, though, but some Slavic language, maybe Russian.
The book doesn't look that old and ISBNs have been around for over 40 years in one form or another, so it was just a thought. I have booked from 1967 that has an ISBN on the copyright page. The spine maybe be upside down but I think the book is probably facing the correct way.
It looks Russian or at least cyrillic alphabets, just a bit stylized, maybe. Гомер Одиссея. Of course it might be another language written in cyrillic.

More pics to maybe help (these are pics of the first 2 pages)
I'm not able to see the last 2 links but it looks like this edition:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
I don't think it's the same edition. It probably should look more like this: https://auction.violity.com/102067998... (you have to scroll to find cover photos). It's possible that OP's book is also from 1968 but it may be not this exact edition either.
On livelib.ru it has a slightly different cover (title and the ship are black instead of reddish brown) but the publisher (Дніпро/Dnipro) and year published (1968) is the same.https://www.livelib.ru/book/100054726... . EDIT: I missed it - looks like they changed colour between Russian and Ukrainian editions. So the black one is Russian.

The livelib.ru link one is also Ukrainian edition.
I can't find the binding of the black one again (it was on Pinterest so it won't show in the history properly, only as the main site), but I am pretty sure it had a slightly different spelling. Or perhaps I was just tired and was seeing things - that's possible too. Anyways, the dust jacket would make sense, those books tended to have them. Well, perhaps Melissa could post some pages from the back of the book, the date should be somewhere there.

Im pretty sure it was in someone's estate and when nobody wanted it someone just tossed it on the table at the library ... thank goodness they didnt just toss it anywhere else
