I didn't want it to be too intense...

message 52: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Actually, doing singles, my team already has about half our verse filled up with planned titles for this first week. I'm relooking now to see how this new change adjusts things. I think fewer of our books will work for anything in our first verse. But we'll adjust. I'm glad you've cleared this up for us.

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Sorry it wasn't clear earlier. My thinking was if a verse had a ton of E's or something, it would probably be crazy to have to fill all those individually, you know? Also, books you finish can be saved; so if you finish a book but it doesn't work for the current verse, just save it and post for one that it does. :)

message 54: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments With the new rule adjustment, my team will have our first verse done by the weekend, and there are only two letters left for our two teammates who haven't signed in yet. (Although we'll adjust and trade letters if needed, of course.)

Are you sure you don't want us to do single letters?

If you want us to do compiled letters, may our teammates read ahead for the next verse and just not post until the first verse is finished?

message 55: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments You might have already answered those questions, but do you mind double-checking me?

message 56: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Yes, you can definitely read ahead and just hold off posting until you're on that verse. :)

message 57: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Okay, thank you! Thanks for talking me through this, Melanie. I'm glad this happened today and not later in the week. :)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
I'm sorry I didn't realize sooner that it wasn't clearly written (saying it would work for those certain letters in the example definitely wasn't clear enough to say ALL of each of those letters). Thanks for understanding my error :)

message 59: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Of course! Hey, we all have those moments. No worries at all. I think I've got it understood now, and I'm sure my teammates will catch on too. It's all good! :)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Glad to hear that. If you have any other questions, just ask. :)

I'm off to bed now. Good night and happy reading. ;)

message 61: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Good night! Happy reading to you too, for tomorrow and beyond.

message 62: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Melanie, may we use any/all authors who contributed to a collection to claim letters?
Example: The British Brides Collection

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Question: when we are posting reviews, do you automatically fill in all the possible letters for the puzzle? Or can we pick just one or two letters in order to maximize our page points?

message 66: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Whichever valid letters you say are the ones I'll fill in.

message 67: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Melanie, the original post says each verse counts for 10 points upon completion but 5 points were actually awarded. Which is the correct number?

Oops! It is 10, I messed up when I was updating the posts. I fixed it. Thanks so much, Hannah!

Sarita | 1386 comments Question - I know subtitles count.. but series titles not?

message 70: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Not series titles. Sorry.

message 71: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Thanks - that is what I thought but just wanted to make 100% sure.

:)

message 73: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I have a question about numerals in the title, like Around the World in 80 Days. Would the 80 be ignored or would it be counted as a 'E' for eighty?

message 74: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
It can count for the "E".

Lanelle Melanie wrote: "It can count for the "E"."

Awesome. Thank you.

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Melanie, quick question: I started a book a week or so ago but want to refresh my memory on the only chapter I've read so far. If I restart a book at the beginning and read every word of chapter one over again (and then, of course, finish the entire book), may I count all the pages?

message 77: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
definitely, Andrea! :)

message 78: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Thanks so much!
I had started Until We Find Home when I started The Sea Before Us. They're both WWII fiction, so I definitely want to make sure I'm remembering details correctly and not jumbling them.
The Sea Before Us (Sarah Sundin) was spectacular, by the way.

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
That's great to hear about Sundin's book - it's on my TBR pile. ;)

message 80: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Ooh! Bump it up when you can, Melanie. You will not regret it. :)

message 81: by Isabelle (new)

Isabelle Bartolo (louisatreyborac2) | 1 comments I'm not sure to get how it works... I read 5 to 10 books per months as I also write novels under pen name Louisa treyborac...

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
I'm sorry Isabelle, but signups closed February 6th...I can add you to a backup list if we need a replacement player :)

message 83: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Question: does this title count for U, Melanie?
The Boarded-Up House

message 84: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Yes.

message 85: by Hannah (new)
