Theresa | 15643 comments Andrea is racing home to help her grandmother and younger sister Rachel after Rachel is hospitalized after a hit and run driver leaves her with 2 broken legs. Rachel and Grandma are struggling to turn the family mansion into an inn in the heart of Amish country, called The Three Sisters Inn. The youngest sister Carolyn does not appear in this story. Opening this inn is not supported by financial whiz Andrea who is on track for a promotion in her big city financial firm. She believes it to be financially unwise and beyond the capabilities of her sister and grandmother.

Odd things happen, and more than once, someone seems bent on harming Andrea or driving her away and also on preventing the inn from opening. As the story unfolds, and the threats escalate, Andrea grows closer to Cal, the carpenter renting the barn from her grandmother, adding the necessary romantic element. This is from the Love Inspired Suspense imprint for Harlequin, so there are just some kisses and chemistry.

I enjoyed this quite a bit actually. It felt a lot like reading an adult Nancy Drew book for the first quarter of it, which I seemed to be enjoying. As the danger increases, that feeling left, but I would still rank this a 3.5 star and intend to read the remaining 3 in the series, one for each sister, of course. Oh, and the seeds for the second are sown in this one as Rachel's hit & run accident is not solved.
