SOLVED. Early or middle grade chapter book about a copycat girl. [s]

I read this book over 15 years ago. This book featured two characters, one character who is blonde, pretty, has this beautiful hand-knit sweater. The is the copycat character. This girl constantly tries to wear the same thing as this character. The first one even goes to the lengths of changing out of sweaters during lunch, or something like that. I'm sorry, I have such a sharp memory of reading this book but I'm fuzzy on specifics. The crux of the story is a gorgeous hand knit sweater that the first girl wears and the second tries to emulate but can't??? Or maybe she steals it? Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
