A couple of fiction options:
Ninefox Gambit - a science fiction world where mathematics, and people's belief therein actually affects the rules of reality. I have never read anything quite like it.
The Hydrogen Murder - a science/chemistry themed cozy mystery, first in a series. I'm starting to think that there is a themed cozy series ouot there for EVERYTHING!
Nonfiction -
A Brief History of Time - Has been many years since I last read this, but it has stuck with me.
