You can use this thread to suggest topics you would like to see in next year's 12-in-12 challenge! Some ideas I had this year, but did not use were:

* a book with a color in the title or as a theme throughout
* a book from a genre you have never read (or read very little from) before
* a memoir/autobiography/biography about a person you admire
* a microhistory about a topic you have always been curious about but never delved into
* a book with a paranormal theme
* the first book in a series that is new to you
* a book you want to read but have avoided reading for a long time (due to length, topic, complexity, writing style, etc.)
* a book that takes place in a country you would like to travel to someday

Let me know what other ideas you have!

Just throwing out some ideas off the top of my head,

Poetry collection?

Short story collection?

Something really obscure from online Project Gutenberg (if we like ebooks, of course)?

Novel originally written in a language other than English?

A book/novel specifically about issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or other?
