I read this last Christmas. It really is a lovely book.

Okay, let's see what I can come up with. I've read this book off and on for about a month.
There are not chapter numbers so I'll post what pages I'm discussing in case I have spoilers.

I love this book already. I'm really hoping for good things to come to Oswald during his stay at the Lost River! It's interesting how the brochure he found was so old! I wonder if there's any significance to that and/or if we'll ever find that out...
Love the red bird!! What a cute, funny little character he is. I loved the sign about not letting the bird out of the store and not letting the cat in, LOL!

Just as I suspected, I love the people in this little town. It seems so cozy and friendly there, despite the drama with the "other side of the river."
Man, did this book make you hungry?? It's making me hungry to read all of the delicious foods they ate for dinner and for functions!

The Christmas dinner was very sweet, and I liked how the kids received gifts from Santa.
I love how thoughtful everyone in town is and how they have all taken a shine to Oswald.

I was wondering the same thing about the mail! I would love to go to this little town for the winter or something. I would be okay with a town taking me under their wing and feeding me!

this is a really sweet book so far. It is nice to see Oswald find a place where he is made to feel welcome and that he belongs. I wonder if Frances w..."

Ha, I liked how Oswald figured out what type of bird he is, haha. I'm so glad he's enjoying his new bird watching hobby.

Book Synopsis:
With the same incomparable style and warm, inviting voice that have made her beloved by millions of readers far and wide, New York Times bestselling author Fannie Flagg has written an enchanting Christmas story of faith and hope for all ages that is sure to become a classic.
Deep in the southernmost part of Alabama, along the banks of a lazy winding river, lies the sleepy little community known as Lost River, a place that time itself seems to have forgotten. After a startling diagnosis from his doctor, Oswald T. Campbell leaves behind the cold and damp of the oncoming Chicago winter to spend what he believes will be his last Christmas in the warm and welcoming town of Lost River. There he meets the postman who delivers mail by boat, the store owner who nurses a broken heart, the ladies of the Mystic Order of the Royal Polka Dots Secret Society, who do clandestine good works. And he meets a little redbird named Jack, who is at the center of this tale of a magical Christmas when something so amazing happened that those who witnessed it have never forgotten it. Once you experience the wonder, you too will never forget A Redbird Christmas.
