I read the first one and liked it.I would suggest the knitters series by Sally Goldenbaum and the series by Molly Mcrae.
Oh wow, thank you, that sounds so similar, because Annies has the Stitch in time group, lol:) Thank you Melissa! Denise

Maybe 24 or so in the series. Primary character restores quilts, including antiques.
Cool new series by Isabella Alan, Amish Quilt Shop. I am not a quilter, but both series are enchanting, clearly describing what they are talking about for we non or new quilters. Annies has several series now. I can't afford to get them any longer, but hopefully your library will have some.
thank you Jeanie, no, I can't afford new books either and I am having to learn how this whole "check out" thing works at the library, but I think I got it now. It is really slim pickins for any of the authors mentioned. I imagine mostly old series that people stopped buying or something.I don't know how the whole library thing works, I mean when, and why a book finally becomes available at the library;)
This is a great forum, I was so glad to find it and you folks to ask questions to, as well as maybe share some things I've read;) Denise
PS our library has 2 of The Puzzle Ladies;)
Glad to hear it! I will be new to the library scene, too, so many changes. In the meantime I have been getting many free or on sale books for Kindle, for which you can also get free app for phone or tablet, or download for 'puter. Good luck! I think we will both settle in and get into new habits with library and freebies
Oh yeah, probably didn't mention I have a Nook Tablet so that's where I'll do my reading. I did get a couple of books free, but they weren't "meaty" enough for me, lol! Annies Attics I could not put down, and I've only read about 7, but can't afford them as I mentioned. This site is so cool because I just take the authors name or name of book and do a search at our library;) I can check the other 3 libraries in the county as well;)
Thanks again Jeanie, have a great day!! Denise
Annie's Attic books are the greatest. There are over 20 books in the series. Miracle of Marble Cover is a great series and the new series Unraveled (by the people who do the Annie's Attic series) is wonderful. It takes Kate from Maine to Texas and she starts a new life. Have you read any of the Maggie Sefton's Knitting Mysteries? It is a wonderful series of cozy mysteries. Guideposts has a great series about quilting and mysteries. The Patchwork Mysteries. Following Sarah and her family. Sarah restores old quilts as well as valuing them. She also solves mysteries. I hope this helps. I do not know if your local library will have any of them, but they are very good stories (my local library has a pitiful cozy mystery section). Have a great weekend.
Annies has a couple of new series. As mentioned, one with Kate from the original series. And I'm working on one for a new contemporary/historical series called "Annie's Secrets of the Quilt" that you might also enjoy. :)

I only like books that start and end, although series that do that are fine of course;) I used to love Murder She Wrote, although I like it not always being about murder.
Thank you Deanna;) Denise
You're welcome, Denise. I enjoyed doing the four I did for the first series. It's always great to know people are enjoying them. :)
Oh far out! I got the library2go figured out, made a list of all the authors you gave me, plus I found a Tamar Myers someone listed on another thread. I found I think 10 books at our libraries I can check out!! I selected a book called "Butter Safe then Sorry".It took a bit to figure out this Nook, but if anyone has one they are having trouble checking out books with, I may be able to help now;) Thanks again to all of you:)) I'll be back with a review, lol;) Denise
I noticed there is another Denise on here, I hope no one gets up mixed up, but it didn't give me an opportunity to put in a username, I don't remember that anyway? ttyl:)

Are you asking me Jeanie? I have a Nook. I'm not sure what a "cozy" is? DeniseKristina,
My library is Coos County Library, in Coos Bay Oregon. But there are 4 total in the county. That would be neat if they had a copy. So some of you gals are authors then.
oh sorry Cozy is the type of mystery that Annie's Attic are considered. I am a fan of cozy mysteries
Oh wow, that's amazing, thank you!! I can't find anything like Annies at our library, and I've searched several of the other authors names you guys have listed as well. I did find 2 of the Puzzle Lady.I have the list I made of all the authors I've seen here, and I still have a lot of names left to search so I will do that today;) Denise
PS I will be trying for Caught Dead Handed as well!!

I loved it and look forward to the next book in the series. My local library is Dunedin Public Library. Their address is: 223 DOUGLAS AVENUE DUNEDIN, FL 34698. Thank you again!
Kris
Just wanted you all to know I finally found a book I think I'll enjoy. I did get spoiled on Annies Attic, but I know I'll find more;) Today I came upon Apple Turnover Murder by Joanna Fluke. There are about 12 in our library I think I saw. I'm not big on recipes, but it sounds like a fun read:) Thanks again everyone, Denise in Oregon
I'm already snagged, LOL! It sounds good, and I can't put it down so far, unless it's to answer the forum;) I had no idea I would be lucky enough to find this site. I was just now going through the actual blog and the recommends for November!!I will be able to buy new books after February. I will be glad of that, although I am so grateful for the library and the people that donate books, I will be one of them as I do prefer hard-copies when I purchase;)
One thing for sure, I am only into Annies 7 books so will want to go first at the rest of that series;)
You folks are great, Denise
It is a shame that you are not close to me (Dunedin, FL). I have the whole series in hardback. Love it (not to rub it in). Guideposts also has some great series. Miracles of Marble Cover and the Patchwork Mysteries. If you love Annie's Attic, you will enjoy Unraveled series. There are four books so far and I get them on my Kindle instead of hardcover (saves on shipping costs). I hope you find the Annie's books. Happy Reading.
If I had it to do over again, I think Kindle would have been better. I don't know what you gals think. Just seems like Barnes and Noble don't have as much as Amazon.Shoot, there are so many choices, enough to keep me reading the rest of my life I'm sure;) I liked the series that never ended, like a sosp opera. It had one lady that moved to town as a widow, then a lady that started a Art Gallery, another gal was taking care of her elderly dad, and the 4th had a family, young family and she was just starting a biz as a baker/caterer type. Can't think of the name. All centered around an old, creepy lighthouse mystery;)
I have had both a Nook and a Kindle. I prefer the Kindle. Amazon.com keeps track of what I purchase (I used to purchase the same book twice by accident). There is also a great selection on Kindle. I can also convert epub and .pdf versions of books to Kindle versions. Plus there is Kindle Unlimited (for $9.99 a month you can read books on the program and there are a lot of them).
I did find a program that converts those files, maybe something I'll look into eventually. After I retire in Feb. I will be moving to my "forever" home/apt. in Lakeport CA. I never thought I would be looking in California but this is more Northern, but I have the sweetest friends there. I just feel I am turning over a whole new leaf, and I am ready to get busy with some of the things I've longed to do;) Again, I am just so glad I have been able to find you guys;) Denise PS I'm almost 62 but I actually feel like a whole, new chapter is ready to be written in my autobiography, and I do want it to be interesting, lol;)

You are close! What a small world! I lived in Largo first for about ten years and then moved to Dunedin (bought a house).

Hi Kristina After the holidays why don't we meet for breakfast at Kelly's and I'll bring you the book. Saves postage and you can give it to the library later if you want to.
The book "Caught Dead Handed" hasn't shown at my library yet. Well, I checked yesterday, but not yet today.I did get another Annies Attic mystery from my sister, so I'll start that tonight. I just finished one of Jessica Fletcher's "murder she wrote". A Fatal Feast. I enjoyed it a lot, but the rest of MSW's are audio. Which I may try out at some point, I like to be read to sometimes.

k the librarian?
No, I haven't called them. Just figured it would take time for them to list it on my library2go site;) I've got Annies to read, then I'll be hoping to get the one you sent. I was kind of confused on the "group" posting so I didn't really know who I was posting too;) I figured someone might remember me, thank you much Carol;) denise

A friend had about 7 of the Attic mysteries and I loved reading the. I have a Nook Tablet that I can read ebooks from the local library. Just hoping for some possible suggestions:)
Thanks so much, in advance, for any help:) Denise
