NetGalley - Requests and Read Now Advice

Thanks. Seems they were on this one. I really enjoyed Heather Morris's other books so I hope this is just as good.
That one was a 2018 release Marianne - I just checked it out here, and discovered I've already read it!

Looks good to me. I haven't read it so I've requested. Being from South australia, this sounds great,

I just realised that when I saw your review. Rerelease with a different publisher, apparently...

I do wish they would mark books as such; there are so many it's easy to pick up one you don't realise you've already read!

As it turned out, I didn't mind, because it added something to know that they were written ten years ago, before some of today's advances.

I will try to be more careful in the future. I appreciate it when reviewers let us know if we should have read the previous books!

After being approved for the first, but declined for the second (I have since read it as I got it through KU), I was sent an email about the third. Applied and was declined again - so contacted the person who sent me the email asking why I was declined (given I thought I would be approved as i was sent an email) and she approved it.
So I'm assuming many of you may have also received the email but figured it didn't hurt to share it.

Thanks Janelle
I got that one and Rachael John's next one Talk to the Heart :)

Thanks Helen. I just requeste and was approved for this, and whilst I was there found The Boyfriend Candidate which looked interesting so requested and was approved for that one too....need to stop requesting :P

The Pram by Joe Hill
Ankle Snatcher by Grady Hendrix
It Waits in the Woods by Josh Malerman

I cannot possibly take on another book to review in October. I would if I could.

I suppose October is a popular month in publishing because it is approaching Xmas.

Thanks Brenda - I've been approved for this. Like many others, I'm already over-committed for October, but I'm in desperate need of "Ns" for spell-it-out challenges, so couldn't resist this one. Hers are generally fast and entertaining reads that I can knock over quickly.

I've never read a book by Nicole Trope yet. I was declined for one I requested earlier this year so assume I would be declined for this one too - but you would recommend her work?

I quite enjoy her books for a lighter mystery-intrigue read. I've read three or four, and they all fall into similar territory of a female central character or characters dealing with some sort of past trauma while facing a crisis in the present. I'd call them domestic thrillers. While they're probably not in the top echelon of Australian crime fiction, they're quick, undemanding and entertaining reads, although there are often issues like domestic violence, loss of parental rights etc. involved. I was approved for this one within 24 hours and don't have an exemplary % on NetGalley at the moment, so it may be worth you having another go at requesting!

Some are better than others Bec, but generally she's a good crime/mystery writer :)

Great thanks. I've put it on my list of 'want to request' and will revisit when I've finished some I've got on the go to see if I think I can fit it in.

I thought this had already been mentioned here which is why I got it, but looks like I must have just stumbled across it early August. I realised after I got it I couldn't send it to kindle, so will have to read on phone. Haven't got to it yet (to be honest when I requested it I hadn't even read The Maid - I've read that now so ready for this, just need to finishe off some published earlier first).

This edition is available to send to Kindle or download as epub.
