Book about a stone passed through generations

I’ve read this book twice between 2015-2018 but for the last year or so I can’t remember the title.

It starts with early nomad humans that find a stone and it becomes a part of their religion due to the markings looking like a pregnant woman.

At one time it becomes a necklace piece for the wife of a ruler who has fertility issues and eventually it is swallowed by a nun.

Kinda vague description- but I’m hoping someone knows it.

I read this book a long time ago. I remember that it followed women through the years from beginning humans to more modern, involved stones and fertility in women and a religion built around it. I don't remember if someone swallowed a stone. This is the book if you'd like to try it Circles of Stone
