The different numbers is often because books are often split upon translation. So what is book 1 in the US, may be two books in German, three in Turkish, and only published as an omnibus with book 2 in Latvian. So there is no one-to-one match to an original edition, and those should not be combined.I'm not totally familiar with that series you posted, only read a couple of them, but for instance the last entry in the series list (for book 5.5) isn't published separately in English, it was published in a multi-author anthology. So that shouldn't be combined. Perhaps you could post some specific examples of the books you're concerned about and what you think they should be combined with?

In Italian, Il ciclo di Rachel Morgan, in French Rachel Morgan and so forth.
So, if an edition is linked to a country and its publishing habits, shouldn't we then call the special edition with the original name? So in this case it would be Die Rachel Morgan 0.5 or 5.5, The Hollows xx (maybe with a note if that it's not the same book?) Or simply leave the Die RM 0.5?
A final thought. I noticed this issue only happening with German translations. I'm not sure whether it's linked to a group of users or the German publishing world. (But it does seem strange...).

If there were a one-to-one relationship, they would be combined with the original English edition, which in this case is wildly more popular, and would therefore be the one showing in the series listing. The reason you're seeing German titles is because they have no English equivalent, so there's nothing to combine them with, but they are still part of the same series. GR policy is not to duplicate series in multiple languages - on the *book* title it should be in German, Die Rachel Morgan, #5.5, but not in the series field itself.
Series are book wide though and apply to every edition combined. So it'd make them (even the English edition of #1, and #7, and #3 and so on) belong to the German series, and the Italian series if we did that. And there are books out there translated into 20, 30 languages, it'd be totally unmanageable and not very useful.
So the only ones in that list with only German titles, are there because they do not have an equivalent in English. #5.5 was never published separately in English, but has been in German. It is still part of the series though, it just happens the most popular (and only) edition of it is the German one. If it's ever published in English, and that edition became most popular, it'd be the one you see in the series list.
ETA: Should have actually looked at the edit page for a note first: It's a novella from "Dates in Hell", and also has nothing in English to combine with.

#5 combined the 3 German editions each with the matching English ones.
I've noticed recently that someone is creating German translations without adding to the original edition, thus creating different books (at times with different numbers).

Is there anyone who read German that can correctly merge these books?
This is not a single instance, I've seen enough in other series/books that I decided to let you know and see how we could intervene.
If you agree, we could all post those edition without a parent here so the German-speaking users could intervene.
