Peggy wrote: "I highly recommend starting soon with those last two books of The Riyria Revelations Lisa! :)"I agree with Peggy, and then you can join me with the Riyria Chronicles. :)
Ooh Matthew Shardlake I'd really like to read at some point =]How about any Sharon Kay Penman books?
Sarah wrote: "Ooh Matthew Shardlake I'd really like to read at some point =]How about any Sharon Kay Penman books?"
I would highly recommend the 'Shardlake' books Sarah. They are brilliant!
I may well add some Sharon Kay Penman into my 'series that I want to start' list ;)
Peggy wrote: "Are you planning on buddy reading the chronicles? I would love to join too!"I reckon a buddy read may well pop up at some point Peggy ;)
I shall defo read them. Maybe it'll be a series I can start next year =PKewlio, let me know as I'm planning on reading the Welsh Princes series. Well actually I'm planning on reading all her books next year for another challenge in another group, so if you decide to read any we can do a buddy read perhaps =D

I have just added the Welsh Princes series into my possibles list so I will let you know if I decide to read any of them and then we can definitely do a buddy read :)
Lisa wrote: "Oh yes, I forgot about 'The Riyria Chronicles'! Whoops! I would love to join you Janice :)"I just realized that the Chronicles won't fit the challenge because it's only 2 books. There's 3 with the short story, but the addons don't count.

That's a shame. Oh well, I guess we will just have to read them outside of the challenge ;)
Ok, I have my first level planned out which will allow me to complete 2 series and hit 100 points. I am going to plan everything else as I go along.
It's going to take a while to get my head around the new challenge - I was just looking at your level 1 choices and wracking my brains at how you connected the last Riyria with the first Bronze Horseman - that's the 2014 challenge! *slaps forehead*
Haha, I keep thinking in number of pages and for one book I was relieved that it had just over 500 pages, only to realize that it doesn't matter if it's shorter ;-)
Sarah wrote: "It's going to take a while to get my head around the new challenge - I was just looking at your level 1 choices and wracking my brains at how you connected the last Riyria with the first Bronze Hor..."Lol, I keep doing that too! Although I would have been able to connect them if we needed to - authors surnames both begin with the letter S ;)
Sarah wrote: "It's going to take a while to get my head around the new challenge - I was just looking at your level 1 choices and wracking my brains at how you connected the last Riyria with the first Bronze Hor..."LOL! They can all be connected by the fact that they are all series. But then, that's a moot point.
I still haven't tried Michael Sullivan. Where do you ladies recommend I start?Your lists look great, Lisa!
Laura wrote: "I still haven't tried Michael Sullivan. Where do you ladies recommend I start?Your lists look great, Lisa!"
I would recommend starting with 'The Riyria Revelations' Laura. They are fantastic! You can get all 6 books individually but I would recommend getting them in the omnibus editions which each contain 2 books. They are Theft of Swords, Rise of Empire and Heir of Novron.

I'm thinking of giving this series a go, too. Maybe we can buddy read, Laura? I think there are others probably interested, too.
Sarah wrote: "Yay, Level 1 all ready =]"Yep, all ready for January now! :D That is the only level that I am planning ahead for. I am going to wing it the rest of the way.
The bronze horseman is a series I plan to start (and hopefully finished) this year. Those are three chunksters!
Sandra wrote: "The bronze horseman is a series I plan to start (and hopefully finished) this year. Those are three chunksters!"I hope you enjoy them too Sandra! :)
I finished my first book for this challenge which was Heir of Novron which also means that I have killed off my first series, 'The Riyria Revelations'. This was a fantastic book and series and one that I would really recommend checking out. Here is my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...I still need to finish one more series before I complete Level 1 but it's a start :)
Thanks Sarah. I haven't actually completed Level 1 yet though. Hehe. I finished 'The Riyria Revelations' but I still need to kill off one more series before I level up ;)
Oh, oops sorry ahah! Yes I just noticed the tick, whoops. But you're doing well though =] I'm still on my first book. Getting there though.
I have started my next book for this challenge, Inferno, which will complete the 'Robert Langdon' series and kill off Level 1.
