Goodreads Librarian here. I made a new book record for The Orphan House by Ann Bennett, not realizing at the time this book was previously published under a different title and publisher. (The older book has no ISBN13 listed, so no error was given when I created the new record.) Once realizing, I added the previous title and publication date information. Then I saw the book wasn't attached to the correct author, and is instead showing up as a book by another author of the same name. (I did not add spaces between the first and last name--I checked to make certain.)
My question is this: Should I have added this as a new edition of the previous title, instead of creating a new book record? I've never experienced this issue before, and I'm not sure what needs to be done.
The paperback edition of The Foundling's Daughter without isbn is a duplicate of the paperback edition of The Foundling's Daughter with isbn. I've merged the duplicate.
