Sandra | 31515 comments No we can't use images from amazon. Someone would own that image.

We need to follow copyright law.

From the edit page:
"Copyright is important!
So before you upload an image, make sure that either:

- You own the rights to the image (usually meaning that you created the image yourself)
- You can prove that the copyright holder has licensed the image under a free license
- You can prove that the image is in the public domain
- You believe, and state, a fair use rationale for the specific use of the image that you intend"

Isaac Toit (isaac_du_toit) | 161 comments Ok, thanks for letting me know. Can images from Wikipedia under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence be used on author profiles? What do you mean by fair use?

Goodreads is not set up to be able to comply with the requirements of a CC license. Author photos may only be added to Goodreads if they are in the public domain, or if you have the permission of the photo's copyright holder.
