celadonbooks | 26 comments Hi all!

Our author, Kate Murphy, noticed that the Get A Copy section on her book, You're Not Listening (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...) has broken links.

How do we fix them?

For instance, when you click Amazon, it goes to a broken link page even though her book is available on Amazon.

Thank you!

Get a copy links are set by individual users, librarians have no control over them.

That being said, if you're looking at the Kindle edition- https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...- the Amazon link works perfectly fine there. For the ebook edition that you linked, that wouldn't work on Amazon get a copy because they only sell the Kindle format or print editions (which worked for me as well).

So, the format has to be sold by that particular bookseller. Kindle editions wouldn't be available through the BN get a copy link, etc.

Scott | 8866 comments That edition is not available through Amazon. You need to use the Kindle page.

celadonbooks | 26 comments Thank you for the information!

Could you clarify who exactly the individual user is so I can follow up with them to solve the issue?

message 5: by Scott (new)

Scott | 8866 comments What Cassandra meant is that each user sets his or her own preferences for store links. You can do it in your account settings.

message 6: by celadonbooks (new)

celadonbooks | 26 comments So should Kate Murphy update the Get a Copy links?

Who moderates and updates that?

message 7: by Scott (new)

Scott | 8866 comments You do. Everyone does. In your account settings, under book links, you will see the option for which stores you want to see.

celadonbooks | 26 comments Thank you all—I realize these questions have made me realize a larger issue.

We need to combine the Hardcover and Ebook version into one You're Not Listening. How is this done?

Our author has claimed the Ebook version but is not on the Hardcover version and they appear to be separate.

Hardcover: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Ebook: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

This is the correct author profile, Kate Murphy, for You're Not Listening:
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

annob [on hiatus] (annob) | 4048 comments To me it looks like all editions of the title already are combined (linked together). You can see them all in this view:

https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

One of the editions, your hardcover link in the post above, was on another author profile, but I've now moved it.

If your Kate Murphy wish to do so, she can claim the author profile by filling in the application form for the Goodreads Author program, found here:

https://www.goodreads.com/author/conf...

message 11: by celadonbooks (new)

celadonbooks | 26 comments Thank you for moving the author profile!

I see the ebook version has an incorrect isbn and that is feeding broken links.

The correct ebook isbn is 9781250297204

How do I change this?
It does not allow me to do so in Edit Details on the page

Emily | 17559 comments There is more than one ebook edition.
The one with that ISBN is here:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
The other one is Vintage Digital.

message 13: by celadonbooks (new)

celadonbooks | 26 comments I see.

Wonderful—thank you everyone for answering my questions!

celadonbooks | 26 comments Hi all!

How do I change it on Kate Murphy's author profile that the featured edition of You're Note Listening is the Hardcover and not the eBook edition?

Thank you all!

Only the author can do that, and only if she claims the profile as referenced in message #10.
