HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I loved Aurora Rising, glad to see you enjoyed it too!

message 52: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Heather and I also hope I'll enjoy reading the book you've recommended Illuminae by the same author. I plan to buy it in April and since I'm not going to travel for at least 3 months, I'm going to read more :)

message 53: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Oh I hope so! It remains one of my favorites ever! Planning to reread this year sometime hah

message 54: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've decided to join one more challenge in April. Sounds really fun. The 'April' Challenge

That looks like a crazy challenge Jess!

message 56: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments It actually is a bit crazy, but I really love such challenges and readathons. Motivates me a lot to read more.

message 57: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I'm doing 'April' as well! Though only a medium team for this round.

message 58: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Great! I've chosen serious team :) I'm going to at least try it :D

I've only ever done the for fun teams. Contemplating bumping up to serious since I've been reading approx 15 books a month this year. Can't decide.

message 60: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Take it easy, it's better sometimes to go on a slower pace and have some rest. As for me I had a pretty long period, when I couldn't read much, so I'm a bit eager to read more. And also I went quite crazy on reading manga series :D

message 61: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've finished The Mortal Instruments Series. About 2 months ago I've tried to watch the series and didn't like it. Books are much better. [3-4 stars] for the series.

I've started TMI too but I only got through the first two books and I don't know if there is something wrong with me or them but they felt a bit flat. I hope they get better somehow

I totally understand what you're talking about. I felt somewhat the same when I tried to watch the series. But when I read the first 3 books, it was much better, but still a bit flat.

message 64: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments @Jess I heard her other series are much better than TMI so I am counting on that

message 65: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Read them in the recommended reading order if you continue past the original 3 I believe it is of TMI. I enjoy the books. I still have many to finish!

message 66: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I personally heard so many opinions on this. Some people say to read them as they are, some to read them in the recommended reading order, I am just confused as hell 😂

message 67: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Same here, I just decided to start reading from what I already owned at that time :D If the other books are better, I believe I give them a try sooner or later.

I'm also so into manga those days. Just fly through several series really fast.

And also decided to reread Harry Potter for the ***nd time.

Do the recommended order as there are mini spoilers and appearances from characters. It makes everything fit together better. At least according to the author.

But really, its up to you! :)

message 69: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Hey hey! Finished my 3rd readathon for this year. 7 books in 7 days done! Next comes in April :D

I'm a bit late for this discussion but I adored Illuminae and Aurora Rising. They're both fantastic.

message 79: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Kayleigh it's never too late for a good book :)

message 80: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Added and actually finished today a manga series Paradise Kiss Series. It's written by the same author, who wrote Nana Series. I liked both. Nice drawing and light, romantic, enjoyable story.

message 81: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've added one more challenge for April - September. 2020 Tea Time Challenge.

nightlyreadingheather (heatherhy01) @Jo Glad you are home safe!

I have been pushed back at work to only working one day per week for the time being. I work Mondays only. Everyone has been cut back. I work for a private pain practice and we have moved to a tele med for our visits since the patients have been cancelling their appointments. My job is scheduling for trials and ordering pain pump meds but since elective procedure are not allowed, there goes about 80% of my job! Hence my being cut to one day per week. Honestly, at this point, I would rather not even go in for that one day. I am able to collect partial unemployment but feel that I am risking myself for one day that is not really worth it

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Added a great amount of BRs. And I've started reading The Vine Witch. Great atmospheric read. I can feel like I'm also there, with the main character.

message 86: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I really want to see what you think of The Vine Witch! I am debating reading it too

message 87: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Oooh! I have the Vine Witch as well but have yet to get to it so will be anxious to see how you end up liking it!

message 88: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've read about 50% of The Vine Witch and love it. Some unexpected twists occurred, today I'm going to finish reading. Hope it will be as good as I wanted it to be. Update you later.

message 89: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Finished The Vine Witch and wrote a review. It was a great 5 star read for me. But not so good for others :D

message 90: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I'm glad to see you liked it! I've seen some of the lower reviews and been nervous but this gives me some hope!

message 91: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @HeatherH at least it worth trying. You can always drop it if you don't like the book :)

message 92: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Finished Theft of Swords. One more great read! Epic adventurous fantasy. 5 stars :) and the review

message 93: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments That one was recommended to me by an old high school friend recently! Glad to see you loved it, makes me more excited to get to it.

message 94: by Elena (new)

I hope you'll like it. And the author, because he has at least one more really good series: The Legends of the First Empire. I've read only the 1st book, but it was amazing.

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Brittany definitely try reading :)

@Heather great, I hope you'll love both series.

Update: Just finished one more BR Chocolat by Joanne Harris. Recently I've been reading only the books I enjoyed. It's a total luck :D Enjoyed this one too. So cozy and sweet! Here is the review.
