Cloud Atlas Initial Impressions

Having a really hard time getting into this book! I am stalled at the beginning. Watching the movie right now to see if it will help me gather interest.

There was only an audio copy left. I've tried listening to it and not happening. If there is another copy of the actual book could you let me know?

Was having trouble starting but I think it is the language. Reading on my kindle helped because I started looking up some of words. It pulled in the history in deeper ways that made it interesting.

I also switched to the kindle version almost immediately because it was apparent that my vocabulary wasn't up to snuff. Then, I was looking up so much background on the colonization of New Zealand that I felt a little stuck by that first section. Once I made it past, I really began to appreciate and admire the structure of the story telling. Other than the Zachry section (which I also found almost impossible to read) I really ended up loving the experience and found the book to be really beautiful. But it's not an easy one, that's for sure. Please feel encouraged to come even if you gave up on it or just simply hated it. :-D
