I'm actually gonna DM you Sonnie about the shadowhunters books. I'm so behind on them but someone told me something about it that's put me right off reading them :/

I’ve read The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices but no more after that so when I heard that I was like I don’t wanna read any more of that’s true. Lol.

Oooh, what book/series is that spoiler regarding? I'm very curious but I'm gonna refrain from reading it because I'm still a bit behind.

Kay (The Dark Artifices Spoiler) (view spoiler)[ I think what you're probably referring to is one of the side romances between 3 characters. I don't wanna spoil anything for you, but it's not like some gang bang going on lol. It's more of what they call a poly relationship (I think). Honestly, RH is definitely not my thing either and I don't read it, but I think what Cassandra Clare was doing in this instance was just showing that there are people out there who have a relationship (like not just a sexual relationship) with others. And it's just between these three and it really takes place in the last book. I don't remember a super steamy scene though for them. (hide spoiler)]

Also Kay if you wanna skip Dark Artifices you can and just jump straight into the new books. BUT I will say DA was my absolute favorite shadowhunter novels. They were so good.

Really? I wasn’t as fond of them - my favourite by far was Infernal Devices!

Had to read the spoilers, couldn't help myself. And now I'm just more curious. (view spoiler)[ I like that other relationship types get added in, it doesn't have to, and shouldn't be a main part of the story but I like seeing differences. And that would be a nice change to the love of bad love triangles!!!
RH, done right doesn't bother me though. I like that this trope has become a thing since it was always "okay" for guys to have a harem but not the other way around. As long as everyone involved is alright with it and it isn't abusive or forced.
But I do get how it is an uncomfortable trope for a lot of people. (hide spoiler)]

I think I'd actually be okay with that. (view spoiler)[If it's not the main couple I'd be totally fine with that. And yes, I also think it's great that they are representing other types of relationships. My issue would be if it's with the main characters romance. I hope they doesn't come off as prejudice or anything but I just don't find it romantic. I'm very much a monogamous romance person and if there's a poly relationship in there as the main romance I just feel meh about it. To me I love that epic love there's only one person they wanna be with. Maybe it's the hopeless romantic in me haha (hide spoiler)]

Laura, see I'm the exact opposite! ID was my least favorite lol. I mean, I still loved it though, just at the bottom of the Shadowhunter list for me.

Britt & Kay: (view spoiler)[ I completely agree. She is really good at representing other relationships besides just the normal straight couple. And Kay, I totally get what you're saying because I'm the same way. If I can't place myself in the main characters shoes, then it's really hard for me to get into the story. But in this particular threesome really sucked me into their story and I could understand why they loved each other like they did. It was very well done. (hide spoiler)]

Sooo...I'm 100 pages into and I'm not going to lie, it's a bit silly. I'm going to continue reading it because I wanted something light, but as of right now I wouldn't pay for it again.
