I see all the covers of the available book having scene from the movie. That made me curious. And people know about the movie but hardly about the book.

According to IMDB, the movie was released in November of 2008. Amazon shows the original version of the book was also released in November of 2008. Reviews for the book go back to December of 2008. It appears they were originally released simultaneously.
