They were just posted. They're pretty general challenges but I don't want to get too specific for a readathon. :)

I have a question/possible cheat (lol). The Dewey Decimal system categorizes graphic novels as non-fiction (they can be found in the 741s). Does this mean if I find a graphic novella I can use it for both those challenges??
lol! Well I am kind of confused. Are we talking about A) a non-fiction graphic novel? or B) Or a graphic novel novella?
If A, it would only count as non-fiction if it was actually real. If B, (even though I don't think I have ever seen a graphic novel novella) I guess it would work as long as it wasn't too much over 100 pages. Does that make sense? I don't know if I understood the question.
Haha, yes, I meant graphic novel novella. Which I know isn't really a definitive novella, but the way I'm defining it is as a novella that was made into graphic novel form. (I actually did find one of these!)But what you're saying is that it can't count as nonfiction unless the TOPIC is actually nonfiction? Not just the call number on the book?
Oh, if it is a graphic novel NOVELLA, sure count it! :DBut no. The topic or story has to be nonfiction to count.
Wish me luck, everyone. My husband just told me that he requested the 27th off so that we could spend four days together and his request was granted. :o) So SWEET but such the wrong timing! LOL We work opposite schedules. I get off work at 2:30 and he leaves for work at 2:40. I work Mon-Fri, he works M-W with Thursday and Friday off. Then he works weekend days, so we only get those four evenings together, never entire days unless I'm on vacation time. SO I'm still going to read on the 27th but most likely not as much.
I know the feeling, Vicki! My husband gets home from work at 4:20 pm and I leave for work at 4:30. When I get home he goes to sleep. Sundays are the only day our schedules match. Spend some great quality time together! :) That is definitely what's most important.
Yes, you are absolutely right, Nicole! We will have four days in a row together. Usually after Christmas we go shopping for ourselves, big items or things we need like new bedding or whatever.
This is only my husband's and my 2nd Christmas together so we're still figuring out what our traditions and such will be. But that sounds smart! :)

I'm kinda new to the "manga"/"comics"/"graphic novel" scene...are any and all of these acceptable for this challenge? A friend of mine insisted I read some Batman comics she loves and I'm actually getting into them! Just wondering if I can use some for this challenge.
I did a Google search, and some people were like, "There's no difference except for the names", and others were like, "They're all so different!" and I didn't want to use a comic when the rules only specify "manga" if you were one of those purist-type people lol. My comic should cover several challenges! I'm excited! :D
This is what my understanding is now:Comics: Different plot every issue, certain length and layout expected, more of a Western thing.
Manga: Continued plot throughout series, certain length and layout expected, Japanese in origin.
Graphic Novel: A story plot that has been illustrated, i.e. a novel with lots of nice pictures. ;)
I was really hoping I wouldn't be scheduled to work on the day of the readathon but I have to go in from 2-6. :( It could be worse though! I'll hopefully read at least 1 or 2 off my tbr before and then try to finish up the rest afterwards! It's going to be an exhausting day, lol!
Kathryn wrote: "This is my first 24hr readathon and I'm hella excited"Kathryn, it's always so fun, unless you are like me and you get all these surprise visits from family/friends right in the middle of it! LOL
Good luck!
So glad you are excited, Kathryn! LOL, Vicki!
Unfortunately, I am getting sick and if this pounding headache doesn't go away, I am not sure how much reading I will be able to do.

I hope my mum doesn't decide we're going out, because then there would be no changing her mind. I don't think I'll get bored, and if I did, I would switch book or do some excercise, I suppose.
Feel better Jacque! I've gotten a bit behind in my reading so my tbr is out the window now, lol! I had it set up so I'd complete all my challenges now but instead I'll just be working on finishing the Mortal Instruments series!
I have a problem cause I don't know if I got the time right. The thing is can't find the equivalent for Spain. Can someone help me?
Sofia, did you sign up in the Readathon Sign Up thread? Your time should be listed next to your name on the list of participants there.
Yes, I did. The problem it's not there, it's that I don't know if it is GMT+1 OR +2 , and I can't seem to find it on the internet clearly and am getting confused.
