message 66: by Molly (new)

Molly (mollymeaker) Haha, I started right away but fell asleep somewhere around 4 or something.. :)

message 67: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments It's going just okay. I went to my daughter's last night to visit with my son and his family because they leave for their home today. I had only gotten three hour's sleep night before last so I was really tired last night. Then I had to leave here at 6:30 to take my car to my daughter and just got back. My "problem" is getting uninterrupted reading. I got home at 8:10 and the TV was already on. Ugh...I hate the TV being on so much!

Anyway I managed 2 short ones (60-ish pages) and I'm halfway done with Freak Boy. I can tell I'm going to fall asleep so we'll see. LOL

message 68: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Molly, I fell asleep around midnight and woke up at 4:30. LOL

message 69: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments I hope you feel better Jaquelyn and Trisha.

I also have not started reading yet. I have been sick and wanted to let my body sleep and recuperate. Going to start a book right now.

Molly (mollymeaker) Vicki wrote: "Molly, I fell asleep around midnight and woke up at 4:30. LOL"

Lol. It also didn't help my case that I was on my bed when I fell asleep. Now I'm on the couch and it's working out pretty well but I'll have to move again soon because my mom and sister are going to have a Downton Abbey marathon.

message 71: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Haha! I love our readathons but I usually have more time to prepare.

message 72: by Molly (new)

Molly (mollymeaker) This is my first time participating in one but I think I was as prepared as I could be, really. and the Read-a-thon Tips helped a lot

message 73: by Sofiraindrop (new)

Sofiraindrop | 425 comments Looks like I'm the crazy one here jajaj I've read 2 long books and 1 prequel

message 74: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 729 comments I finished 3 novellas before falling asleep around 4 last night and I just woke up so I'll try to finish a ~200 page book before work at 1:45!

message 75: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Good luck, Jessica!

You might just be faster than others and/or have less "distractions." I've read two short ones and nearly done with a 400 plus one. You aren't crazy! LOL

I had plenty last night, my husband has had the TV on since 8:00, and I had to go to my daughter's this morning (about an hour 40 minutes), but I listened to about 30 pages on my NOOK of a book that I just started. LOL

message 79: by Krista (new)

Krista | 1550 comments I stayed up and read until about 1 and am now just starting to read again.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

I read two books now (one was over 600 pages). I also have much distractions, I just went to the last hobbit movie and my family is constantly asking things of me. Today it also snows (first time this winter) so I'm looking out of the window all the time :)

message 81: by Trinity (new)

Trinity Just got started reading! ☺ I won't be getting any points for the book I am beginning with because I started it a few days ago, but hopefully I can start another book as well! How's everyone's reading going? ☺

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

My reading is going well, but I the books are pretty long, so it's taking me a while, but I like it!

message 83: by Krista (new)

Krista | 1550 comments I'm almost done with a book. It's been a busy day though. So I hope I get it done.

message 84: by Vicki (new)

I'm glad you are enjoying it. I love the readathons because no matter how much I read, it's usually more than I would have because I do push myself more, not matter the circumstance.

Trinity, I've done that before. It's all about reading anyway. :o)

message 87: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Not participating, just wanted to wish everyone good luck and hope everyone has/had fun. :)

message 88: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments I am here, how can I help? What are you reading?

message 89: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments Oh no!!! Need MOJO Kathryn?? Have you snacked?? had some water??

taken a little stroll around your area and stretch your legs??

What are your book choices??

message 90: by Krista (new)

Krista | 1550 comments Thanks Vicki! :)

message 91: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments Any chance you can get the audiobook version of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell ? It is extremely well done and it would get you up and moving which may help since you have lost your mojo.

message 92: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Oh Fangirl is awesome. <3 I absolutely adored that book.

I also didn't like The Hit, dropped it at 30 pages or so. Wanted to read it further eventually, but then I started reading the reviews and heard about certain things that I didn't like and thus I never continued with that book.

message 93: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments I was getting a bit of a headache from reading so I switched from The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan to the audiobook of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6) by J.K. Rowling so I can walk around and putter. Might do a bit of cooking or cleaning.

If you need, I can sprint with you?

message 94: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments Those are pretty intense? what are you in the mood for Kathryn??

Do you have any novellas that might perk you up??
or need a list of some free ones out there??

Agreed! I loved Fangirl. Haven't read the Hit.

Oh, good idea, Novellas!

message 97: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Oh Novellas, always a good idea if you need a light book snack in-between bigger books. :)

message 98: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments I also listened to the audio version of Fangirl and it was good!

I agree that variety in types of books helps, getting up and around from time to time, picking some short prequels/sequels to help you read a few books rather than one of two long ones. If you have any books in verse, they go by quickly.

I'd sprint with you, too, but I have family in and out today. But once I'm available to commit, I'd be more than happy to sprint with you.

Good luck! Remember, it's all about the reading. If you aren't enjoying your reading choices/time, don't force it.

message 99: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Best of luck, Kathryn! :o)
