Laura ☾ | 875 comments Finished Iron and Magic (The Iron Covenant, #1; Kate Daniels, #9.5) by Ilona Andrews - I'm really sad this series is currently on hold :(

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Brittany wrote: "wow Laura, you devoured those!! Have you read the other series by IA?"

I’ve read the Innkeeper chronicles!

How about you?

I’m tempted to go for Hidden Legacy at some point too

Ive read Innkeeper, keep meaning to read HL and Edge. I've heard good things about all of their books though. Even with some of the awful covers

Oh yeah some of the covers are truly awful 😂

Laura ☾ | 875 comments I finished The Other Side of the Sky (The Other Side of the Sky, #1) by Amie Kaufman and I absolutely loved it!

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
Looks like an interesting read, glad you loved it! What level of sci-fi is it? I am very particular with my science fiction reads, never been a fave genre for me.

I'm not a big fan of sci-fi - i'd say it's mostly fantasy with a few sci-fi elements!

message 163: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
Perfect, I'll add it to the tbr then! Thanks Laura

I have that one on my TBR. I definitely need to read it soon.

message 165: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Finished my re-read of the Nevernight Cycle - and finally continued Outlander with Drums of Autumn!

message 166: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
Awesome! I still need to read all of that

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) | 2304 comments Mod
I started Outlander but I couldn't get into it. Such a shame as I absolutely love the show.

message 168: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Yeah i go through phases 😂 I just feel like the books could be half the length if you remove all the unnecessary descriptions

message 169: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Kay I'm also reading the Outlander series :) currently on book 2 and it's great!

message 170: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Trying to still finish some series! So far I've only got the Stalking Jack the Ripper series and Outlander where there's books out and I haven't finished them. Outlander I definitely need a break from though!

message 171: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2895 comments Mod
I hope you have better luck with Stalking Jack the Ripper than I did! 😅

message 172: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Laura I feel you! I also decided to take a break from Outlander. It's good but very intense.

message 173: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Liliana wrote: "I hope you have better luck with Stalking Jack the Ripper than I did! 😅"

So far it’s not going great hahahah

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Elena wrote: "@Laura I feel you! I also decided to take a break from Outlander. It's good but very intense."

Honestly though the fifth book was pure filler

message 175: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Ok I finished Capturing the Devil and Boy was that a mess!

message 176: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2895 comments Mod
OMG right?!?! This whole series was just mediocre. Literally the only thing I liked about this was the autopsies. I'm a science girl myself, so that was really interesting to me.

Laura ☾ wrote: "Ok I finished Capturing the Devil and Boy was that a mess!"

Thank you for solidifying my choice to avoid the rest

message 178: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Yes! Audrey Rose annoyed me so much throughout

message 179: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2895 comments Mod
Me too! Thomas also at first I didn't like, but I came around to him by the end. Not Audrey Rose though lol

message 180: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Yeah same!

message 181: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments finally got around to Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs ! It was okay but I'm annoyed with the love triangle aspect already hahah

message 182: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
The love triangle thing last so little time and isnt a true one. Series does get a lot better in my opinion.

message 183: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Finished Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs and it's still going strong with that love triangle haha

message 184: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
You are almost out of the love triangle. I think it is book 3.

message 185: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Yes I finished book 3 and we’re out 😂 although mercy is still being stubborn

message 186: by Brittany (last edited Dec 27, 2020 02:27PM) (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
She is but I guess I always kind of understood her stubborn and everything so it never bothered me.
Also I love Adam. He is one of my absolute favourite alphas.

message 187: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments I get ya! And yeah he’s great!

message 188: by Gord (new)

Gord | 1004 comments It took me to the end of book three to get hooked on the series. Now I am a massive fan of the series.

message 189: by Laura ☾ (last edited Dec 28, 2020 02:11AM) (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Oh I just started the sixth book and yup they've definitely grown on me! haha

I think same around the beginning of book 4 was when I got hooked

message 190: by Brittany (last edited Dec 28, 2020 02:28PM) (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
Are you reading Alpha and Omega as well Laura?

Also wow! You are just flying through the books

message 191: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments I think I will do after mercy!

Well they’re not long and I’m on leave from work (took a break over Christmas). 😂

message 192: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
In my opinion they are better read together in the author's reading order. Just 'cause there is some overlap time line wise in a few books. Also if you are reading them do not skip the prequel novella it is super necessary.

Yay for breaks!

message 193: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments Makes sense! But I have the mercy books already so I think I’ll go against the chronological order and just get those out of the way first 😂

message 194: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6459 comments Mod
hahah fair! There's a couple little spoilers across the two when read out of order but its totally doable

message 195: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 875 comments That doesn't really bother me! :)
