Not sure about that - what’s bothering me about the last trilogy is that the POV switches are inconsistent (some first person some third person) and some parts are just dragging on to me

Finished my re-read of The Hobbit and LOTR! I just love Tolkien's writing and got reminded of it now!

And I'm excited to get stuck into The Empire of Gold

So I'm currently two out of four books into the Three Dark Crowns series and I really don't know how I feel about it...

I loved them but I can understand the conflict. I listened to them and the audio was good. What are you enjoying and not? Maybe I can help you decide if its worth continuing?

Hahaha I will definitely still continue because I’m a bit OCD about not finishing series and unless I really hate it I’ll continue!

But honestly to me the premise is great and the plot isn’t bad but the pacing is really odd and the characters’ relationships seem to escalate out of nowhere?

There are definitely some of those very strange relationships. I loved the premise though. I wrote a bunch more when Kay and I did a buddy read from book 2 onwards. But there are some strange choices the author makes, especially some of the stuff with Peter.
But some of the odd pacing and relationships get a bit better as you go.

Oh the whole Joseph thing throughout the first two books just felt so unnecessary

Finished Roomies and it was actually super cute! both the MCs behaved stupidly at times but it was enjoyable as a fluffy rom-com!

So I finished Five Dark Fates and honestly I feel like the premise was interesting but it was missing something...and the ending was a bit of a let-down (view spoiler)[ Mirabella and Katherine both died in such anticlimactic ways and none of the questions about WHY there had to be triplet queens and only one could survive were answered? I might read it later on - For now I'm more focussed on the main books haha. I'm not the biggest fan on Raphael

If you’re not set on hard copies they go on sale quite often in the kindle store!
