ABANDONED. book about a boy who hides in the back of an old television which transports him through time

i dont remember much about this book except that i read it when i was in elementary school. im not sure what time period it is supposed to take place in, all i know is that its about a boy who is playing hide and seek i think and hides in the back of an old box television set and it takes him to the past.
