Angela Right, so. I've been seeing this book recommended pretty much everywhere from the moment it came out. It wasn't the kind that made me immediately go 'Oh!! Yes.' but it did make me go 'Hmm..maybe.'
And then later on I read "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgensten. And I only read that one cause a friend of mine bought it and DNFed it so I inherited it. I found it tolerable but not amazing.
Now my problem is that The Night Circus and Caraval seem to show up a lot together. If someone has read one of them then the other is suggested.
So umm, I don't know, could someone tell me how similar they are? Am I likely to enjoy Caraval if I didn't really like The Night Circus? (Yes, I realise you can't read my mind or predict the future but still...)
Just, help me decide, because it's been several years and I'm failing to reach a decision on my own. XD

Nikita I liked Caraval more than Night Circus. It's good

Leena I enjoyed Caraval a lot, and I think that if you’ve been wondering about it for years, then it’s better to read it then give into the fear of not enjoying it.

I've loved this book particularly because I also loved the world of celebration and mystery in which I was immersed. I haven't read the night circus but I know that Caraval is a very good book. However it is a personal opinion and I don't know enough about your taste in books to say you would likely love it.
I think it was worth my time and I really enjoyed reading the saga.

I second that.
I haven't read The Night Circus Either, but I very much enjoyed Caraval; I loved it! I would say if you like magic, games, mystery, lovable characters, or being left on the edge at the end of chapters, then I'd recommend it. If not, then maybe it's not for you. Regardless, I'd say just read it.
If you get 100 pages in and it's not appealing enough to you, maybe then you could drop it. Either way, I think you might like it—I did, but my book tastes are probably not the same as yours. :)
You could also check out reviews to see what other people have to say about it.
Hope this helps!!

Angela, I passed on Caraval for months before I read it. I didn't care for Night Circus. Caraval was very entertaining. There are three books in the series for this first time author. In my opinion, I didn't care for how she wrapped it all up. I met her at the book signing. She commented how "the book wrote itself" and that logic shows as there were many parts of the last book that did not make any sense at all. The first two books were amazing!

Melanie If you love fantasies and magic you should 100% read this book. You definitely will not regret it. Usually I don't read a book right after I get it, but this one I couldn't help but pick up for some reason. I was absolutely drawn to it. And I am so glad I read it, I am currently on Legendary and it is just as beautiful.

Yo Melanie! Hurry up and finish Legendary so you can get to Finale. So great! Loved the series!!

Kaira I'd suggest atleast trying it out but know that this book keeps you on your feet at all times and if you get confused by plot twists and such easily this isn't the book for you

I've never read Night Circus but for sure enjoyed Caraval. When my aunt had given me her copy of it I was also unsure on if I would read it. I finally got some time away from everything and decided to start on it. The entire book was just full of adventure and mystery making me wonder what was going to happen next. I definitely recommend this book if you want the feeling of not being able to put the book down. It will definitely keep you on your toes and drawn in. Oh i just wanted to jump in the book myself!
