Leila (sarcasticromancereader) | 1094 comments I've reread (and reread) the Librarian Manual on Series and couldn't find the answer to this question. What do we do when a book has been renamed into a new series and is no longer a part of an other series (though was previously published as such)?

According to the authors website (https://ljkolivabooks.com/bibliography/), Season Of The Witch is no longer part of the Shade Below Series but part of a new series, Shadowlines Series, which I have created and moved up in series priority for the two books. Also made a note in the series description.

Do I remove them from the original series and make a note in the series description there as well?

No, not unless they were added to that series in error. But a note in the series description would be fine.

Is this done correctly?

The note is fine. The numbering doesn't make sense though, as it appears both are novel-length, not shorts or novellas.

Right, that is what the series was numbered previously. Currently 1.5 and 2.5 are no longer part of the series but are their own series.

I understand that, but it does not follow Goodreads policies on series numbering.
