I enjoyed many of the old poems in Around the Boree Log and Other Verses by John O'Brien, especially “We’ll all be rooned, said Hanrahan”, the eternal pessimist. Always fun to read these.

Elizabethan England - Shakespeare and Marlowe as minor characters with questionable ethics - great mix of real and imagined characters in P.F. Chisholm’s entertaining Sir Robert Carey historical mystery series. Loved A Murder of Crows.

I am reading The Three Musketeers and Dandelion Wine, which my teacher assigned to me for extra credit. I cannot wait to finish either of them. Also, I am reading How to Win Friends and Influence People which is very interesting more than anything.

The only book of these that I know is Harry Potter and that book is phenomenal and I hope that you can continue with the Harry Potter Series!
What a debut! I absolutely loved When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald. Zelda is different and awkward and she knows it, but she faces life with an honest earnestness that I wish more people had.

hey Kristie! i started reading it because i watched the movie and loved it. the book is really good but is very long 😅 plus i’m in school right now so don’t have much free time to ready so i’ve been at it since December. thank goodness i have a huge TBR pile waiting for me :)
That makes sense! Is your school still meeting, Jenny? I know a lot of schools have either closed or switched to online classes.
I recently enjoyed the prequel (#.7) to Aussie-Irish author Dervla McTiernan's excellent Cormac Reilly mystery series. The Roommate is delightfully creepy.

Loved Death in Delft! This is the first of a brand new series from Graham Brack, (creator of my favourite Czech detective, Josef Slonsky). Master Mercurius is already another favourite character.

I've just finished Here We Are by Graham Swift, and now I'll embark on Something Like Hail by Jay Bell, the 8th instalment in the "Something Like..." series.
I can't resist a visit to Canadian author Louise Penny's Three Pines, so I recently enjoyed The Long Way Home. Now looking forward to the next one!

Ysa wrote: "Question ... how will i know which book are we gonna read this April?"They are posted on the group's home page. You can also tell by looking at the polls to see which books won. There are also dated discussion threads for both of the books in the discussion folder. The discussion threads are typically set up a couple of weeks before the month begins.
The two winning books for April were:
Wuthering Heights - discussion thread here
Little Women - discussion thread here
Finished: The Queen's Bargain by Anne BishopFinished:The Naughty Girls Book Club by Sophie Hart
Now reading: The Ritual Bath by Faye Kellerman
I recently read the perfectly titled Sweet Sorrow by David Nicholls. Young summer love, Shakespeare, and much ado about lots of things, romantic and otherwise.
