Most infuriating to me personally, this is the day some Mounties, tasked with surveillance of suspected serial killer John Crawford, sat there and watched as he beat up and raped, or tried to rape, Theresa Kematch. Crawford left the scene and they let him go, but the Mounties rushed to the site where Theresa was sitting there crying with a black eye and her clothes in disarray. Her throat had been slit on top of forty other stab wounds and more than a few defensive injuries. Guess who did it? Joseph Brant killed a woman while attempting to rape her after she refused him sex. He doused her in gasoline and set fire to her, burning her beyond recognition. One of the killers stomped on her head after the stabbing, and the blood is said to have arced out of the many stab wounds on her head in a sort of halo against the snow. 11/17 is the day the "Monster of Pont Rouge," Leopold Dion, was murdered in prison by a fellow inmate with the nickname Lawrence Of Arabia. I guess maybe he thought it was wrong to have commuted Dion's death sentence to life without parole.
