(the killer, trying not to look totally evil)(and comprehensively failing)

Kenneth Granviel killed Martha, Linda, Laura, Steven and Natasha McClendon, making him both a serial killer AND a mass murderer. I'm sure he thought that made him King Crap of Turd Mountain, at least until the jury slapped him with a death sentence. See 50 American Serial Killers You've Probably Never Heard Of: Volume 6.

(the killer)
But wait! there's more! This is the day John and Sarah Hubbard killed Aaron, Sarah, John, Sarah, Louisa, and Tillman French and the family's newest baby, who wasn't named in Notorious 92: Indiana's Most Heinous Murders in All 92 Counties.

Dean Meyers became the latest victim of the Beltway Snipers. See 23 Days of Terror : The Compelling True Story of the Hunt and Capture of the Beltway Snipers.

Most infuriating to me personally, this is the day some Mounties, tasked with surveillance of suspected serial killer John Crawford, sat there and watched as he beat up and raped, or tried to rape, Theresa Kematch. Crawford left the scene and they let him go, but the Mounties rushed to the site where Theresa was sitting there crying with a black eye and her clothes in disarray. They let Crawford go and arrested Theresa. If you doubt me you can read all about it in Just Another Indian: A Serial Killer and Canada's Indifference. Or here: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/former...

Michael Barnett, similarly bound and unable to defend himself, was strangled to death. See The Bayou Killer: Life of Serial Killer Ronald J. Dominique.

(Michael is all the way on the R in the second row down)
A murder victim who has never been identified was found on this day. The missing head must have made it harder for police. The killer has also never been identified. See Hunting Humans: The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, Vol. 2, under "New Castle."
This is also the day John Crawford probably caught up with and killed Janet Sylvestre. This may have been partly revenge for reporting him to the Sakatoon police for raping her. Her case is technically unsolved, but let's be real. See Just Another Indian: A Serial Killer and Canada's Indifference.

This is also the anniversary of the terrible day a 16-year-old girl nicknamed "Meikka" by her rapist snatched her off the street and kept her captive, naked in a filthy basement, subjected to one rape after another until he decided to let her go 5 months later. See The Charmer: The True Story of Robert Reldan - Rapist, Murderer, and Millionaire - And the Women Who Fell Victim to His Allure.
Chris Deville became the latest victim of Ronald Dominique. See The Bayou Strangler: Louisiana’s Most Gruesome Serial Killer.

This may be the very worst one from this day, at least the worst one I know of. It's now been 19 years since Greg Biggs was hit by a car driven by Chante Mallard, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, pot and Ecstasy. The homeless man came through her windshield and lodged there. She just kept on driving, parked her car in the garage and left him there to die overnight. The next day a cousin helped her dump the body. See http://www.duhaime.org/LawMag/LawArti... Since I first read about this horrible event I've seen the movie HEREDITARY and it did help explain a little of Chante's thinking that night. But still.

See Where the Bodies Were Buried: Whitey Bulger and the World that Made Him.

This is the day Edgar Underkofler met a terrible end. See The Highwayman:: Larry Eyler, the Hoosier Highway Killer.
