Sean Googin became a statistic. Last year I reported that he was a victim of Lewis Lent, but since then I found this: https://www.oneidadispatch.com/news/m...

Deidre Alvis died of drugs she'd bought from her regular connection, Sofronzo Horne. I was surprised to see in the local paper that he was successfully tried for her murder. Maybe they do this all the time but it was news to me. See https://www.freep.com/story/news/loca...

We lost Sherry Eyerly to serial killer William Smith. See https://unsolvedmysteries.fandom.com/...

This is the day Bob Berdella captured Jerry Howell. This was just the beginning of Jerry's problems. See Rites Of Burial.

Shane Stewart and Sally McNelly went out to watch some 4th of July fireworks. They never came home. The case was still unsolved when Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime hit the stands, but see here for a major update: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime...

We lost Kathleen Gouldin to serial killer Vernon Clark. See http://www.baltimoresun.com/maryland/...

Bella Wright died of a bullet to the face on this day in 1919. She was last seen riding alongside a man on a green bicycle. See The Green Bicycle Mystery: The curious death of Bella Wright.

As he always did in the summer when his wife and kids were off visiting the in-laws, Herb Baumeister spent his spare time bringing strange men home from bars and strangling them. Today it was Manuel Resendez's turn, the poor guy. See Where the Bodies Are Buried.

Manuel is 2nd from L along the top
Mary Kathleen Thill vanished, probably at the hands of good old Bob Hansen. If he did kill her, he would have certainly offered her a ride in his plane to a private spot where he would get out a weapon, chase her through the bush, hunt her down and kill her. That was how he rolled. See Butcher, Baker: A True Account of a Serial Murder.

Jimi Patrick was killed by Cosmo DiNardo and Sean Kratz. See https://www.phillymag.com/news/2020/0...

Jimi, shown with his brother victims, is all the way on the L
Speaking of "brother victims," this is the anniversary of the day John Mayeski and Michael Baker -- a friend of his who looked enough like him to be his brother -- were killed by Robert Alton Harris who wanted to use their car. He also finished the partially-eaten hamburgers they had with them in the vehicle. See In the Company of Evil: Thirty Years of California Crime, 1950-1980.

Andrew Fowler was charged on this day with stabbing his mom 22 times, until she died. Her name was Dora. See Predators: From the Files of True Detective Magazine.
Donald Staley killed the unlucky Garry Billings. It was a sex crime. See Cold North Killers: Canadian Serial Murder.

the killer
David Snow abducted and raped Lenore Rattray. As horrific as rapes are usually, this one was probably rather worse because Snow is supposed to have had really appalling B.O. See Cold North Killers: Canadian Serial Murder.

Keith Klingbeil died a horrible, lingering death. He was added to his killer's list of victims with the notation "HIKE OUT LB BOOTS."

Peter Goebbels -- what a perfect name for a serial killer, Goebbels! -- killed the unlucky Marion Bormann. (Strangely, she too had the surname of a Nazi war criminal.) See Hunting Humans: The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, Vol. 2.
Sarah Cherry died a hideous death, maybe at the hands of Dennis Dechaine. He has a mob of supporters saying the court has it all wrong. Just saying. For the official version read Torture Killers II. For the rebuttal see https://www.google.com/search?q=sarah...

Richard Baldwin died under circumstances that were pretty nutty. See Cult Killers.

Julianne is all the way on the L

The Doodler claimed his latest victim, Klaus Christmann. See Young, Queer, and Dead: A Biography of San Francisco's Most Overlooked Serial Killer, The Doodler.

We also lost Hazel Drew on this day in 1908. Her case was never solved but it did become the basis of "Twin Peaks." See Who Killed Hazel Drew?: Unraveling Clues to the Tragic Murder of a Pretty Servant Girl.
Cosmo DiNardo and Sean Kratz, not done yet with their mayhem, killed Mark Sturgis, Dean Finocchiaro and Thomas Meo. See https://www.phillymag.com/news/2017/0...

(Her photo won't stick but you can see it by clicking here: http://www.unsolved-murders.co.uk/mur...)
Jonathan Thimpsen died pretty unimaginably. See Kids Who Kill: Case 4: Sandy Charles.

Private Paul Coile was disembowelled and castrated on this day in 1943, a fact the military chose not to mention to his family, but which his brother found out the hard way when he asked the undertaker to open the coffin a few days later so he could say goodbye. Nice forking moment for him, when he was undoubtedly going through more than enough already. See The Slaughter: An American Atrocity.
Michael Thomas lost his life to the California Donald Miller. See https://caselaw.findlaw.com/ca-suprem...
Geoffrey Griffin killed Starshun Nelson, and I would love to show you a photo of her because she deserves that much, but all I can give you is the reference in 50 American Serial Killers You've Probably Never Heard Of: Volume 6. My BOTD indicates another woman he killed -- who was unidentified --was found on this day. I hope it turned out to be Starshun. The fewer women this dweeb killed, the better, am I right?

We lost Stephanie Dubay in a very ugly scenario that unfolded in Warren, Michigan. See The Mutilators: From the Files of True Detective Magazine. See footage of the crime scenes and trial here: https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/conv...
In the same book, The Mutilators: From the Files of True Detective Magazine, you can read about the equally hideous murder of Kimberly Knight. At least Stephanie wasn't fed to anyone's dogs, for crying out loud. It all went down just an hour and a half away by freeway from the scene of Stephanie's murder. Both young women died on exactly the same day in the same year, 1990. Kim's killer, the boyfriend she was planning to cut loose, said at his sentencing that he had come to understand that what he did to her was wrong. Well that makes it all better, doesn't it?
A woman identified in the papers only as Elizabeth M. became the latest victim of Niels Hogel. See Serial Killer Nurse.

Jennifer was last seen leaving a hospital emergency room
Joseph Franklin killed Harold McIver for stupid reasons. See Dark Soul of the South: The Life and Crimes of Racist Killer Joseph Paul Franklin.

This is once again the anniversary of the day we lost Laura Jean Ackerson. See https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...
And incredibly, it's already the 35th anniversary of the day Alan Canty Jr., a Grosse Pointe psychologist, had his head bashed in by a pimp with a baseball bat. Pieces of Dr. Canty started showing up all over Detroit's East Side, and later much farther north, concealed in Hefty bags. I still can't see a garbage bag by the side of the road without remembering this sorry incident. See Masquerade.
We also lost Stephanie Vikko. She may be a victim of Jerry Brudos. See Lust Killer.

Johnny Meadows killed Eula Miller, who surely deserved better than that. See Hunting Humans: The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, Vol. 2.
An 18-year-old captive was rescued from her abductor, Emil Young, by a heroic motel clerk named Calundra Cooper, the motel manager and a truck driver who called the police and ended Young's killing spree on the spot. See https://oklahoman.com/article/2324471...

They found out for sure on this day that Alice Pereira had lost her life, maybe to Andre Rand. See https://nypost.com/2000/04/24/jailed-...

This is the approximate day a man we still know only as "Portland Eck" was tortured to death by Randy Kraft. See Angel of Darkness: The True Story of Randy Kraft and the Most Heinous Murder Spree.

Deborah McHenry was raped and strangled by her childhood friend, Eugene Britt. This could not have followed his usual pattern of raping women he did not know and killing them if they dared look at his face. See Notorious 92: Indiana's Most Heinous Murders in All 92 Counties.
The best anniversary from this day that I'm aware of is Norma Countryman's 1974 escape from Warren Forrest. She chewed through the ropes he'd tied her up with and fled naked through the forest. And, I guess, from the Forrest. I mean this on more than one level when I say: YOU GO, GIRL! See https://www.columbian.com/news/2014/a...

Fishface wrote: "7/15 is the 8th anniversary of the day Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado were gunned down, more or less out of nowhere. According to the jury, this was NOT the work of Aaron Hernandez, but see [bo..."
I disagree with the jury. Tragedy all around and the NFL is seriously forked up.
I disagree with the jury. Tragedy all around and the NFL is seriously forked up.

As I'm sure I've commented before, even Hernandez seemed really thrown by the verdict. I mean look what he did afterwards...

As did Ngoc Van Dang, at the hands of a pack of teenagers. See Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime. Or here: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/o...
There are two very good anniversaries today too:
Alton Coleman and Debra Brown were arrested at last, ending their multi-state kill spree. See Serial Killer Couples: Bonded by Sexual Depravity, Abduction, and Murder.
And one that always brings a smile to my face: Paul Ogorzow became the only man I'm aware of ever kicked out of the Nazi Party for being too violent and dangerous. Good, good times, I tell you. See A Serial Killer in Nazi Berlin: The Chilling True Story of the S-Bahn Murderer.

Today's theme, though, is family murders. It's the anniversary of the day Dick and Shirley Robison and their children, Susie, Gary, Randy and Ritchie, were found dead in their vacation place up North, as we Michiganders call anything above Pentwater. Gemmel Moore died at the hands of Democratic politician Ed Buck. Buck, with his rainbow neckties and LGBTQ advocacy efforts, is living proof that not every homosexual serial killer is a "closet case" who resents being gay. See https://www.vibe.com/2017/11/gemmel-m...

Gemmel, L; the Buckster, R
