Hey Robin, I'm seeing that it's counting 15 books and you have 15 titles written. I did go through and just backspace on all of your blank boxes... sometimes we leave a space there that looks like nothing but counts as something for the formula. Should be fixed now!

At the bottom, there are a few tabs... you would go to the tab 2022 (M-Z) to add your name to the list. You'll put your name to claim your column, then add the books as you read them! It'..."
I am trying on my computer but when I press the tab with M-Z the list that comes up with choices only shows options like Delete, Copy, Change Colour and Move to Left or Right. I can't add anything.
You should be able to click the tab (regular click, not right click, and make sure you aren't hitting the little down arrow) and it will take you to that tab on the spreadsheet. It sounds like you are right clicking on it or maybe hitting the drop down menu on the tab accidentally.

Yes, I did click on the little arrow since nothing happened at first when I made a regular click. Finally I managed to write my name but it's still difficult to add books since the squares grows and covers multiple columns when I write something in them. Or will they automatically "shrink" when I'm done?
Can you see my name Nike? Written with yellow letters on a purple-pink background. The first book I've added on prompt 1 is spread over several columns and I can't delete it.

Yes, that actually worked for the other books but not for book number 1 - can you help me fix it? It's all over the place and I can't delete it. It worked fine with the other two titles but something went wrong with the first. I'm sorry to trouble you but I have never had the reason to use Excel once I learned it when I was young. Does it look the same for you as for me? It's somehow dragged out over the columns.

Yes, thanks to Steve also, there must have been a space or something that didn't delete. 15 is correct.

For those of us who are doing reject challenges, you can use that space to track the reject challenge. It works really however you'd like it to work!

There are no book length or format rules for the ATY yearly challenge. The read-a-thons do require books to be at least 100 pages and some seasonal challenges have a minimum page rule.
Except of course, for the rare prompt that mentions a length. We have one this year that is Under 220 or Over 440. I think we had one a couple years ago that was "a short book - under 100 pages".

Read two books for the unsuccessful suggestions prompt and delete another prompt and count the extra book as an equivalent to a Wild Card read?

Yes, that's fine.

Yes, that's fine.

Hey Kendra, we will likely push it... May got a bit away from me and I haven't had a chance to organize all of the pieces yet. It will be the second choice option, next week!

No problem. I figure as you and the other mods are the ones doing the work, your votes as to when to have the read-a-thon should count the most. 😁 When I had voted, the second option was in the lead, but when I checked to see the results yesterday, I was surprised. And this way I have time to do a library run for short books.

I was wondering if we're going to have a summer reading challenge this year, and if so, shouldn't it start in June ...? And if not, are there any other similar sub-challenges you would recommend?
We will have a summer reading challenge that will be posted either today or tomorrow! Our Summer Reading Challenge also comes with a chance to choose one prompt on our 2023 ATY list, so we are working hard on it to make sure it's all good to go before we post.

Can't wait :) Looking forward to it, and thank you so much for all your great work in and for this group <3

Generally speaking, your challenge, your rules. The only time we get stricter is with readathons and seasonal reading challenges because we're trying to keep them fair.
Oh Joy, I don't know that we started one. Let me post one and I'll put it in the Announcements thread when it's up!

Thank you!

Every time I come back to the spreadsheet, I have to start again because my column has disappeared. I can’t see what I’m possibly doing wrong. Could you please enlighten me, if possible. I have noted that my name is my first name this time in case that is the issue.
Appreciate your assistance in not having to type everything out again and again,
Charlston

Sorry about that Charlston, it looks like the one you most recently added is your only column, so it may have gotten deleted along the way. Hopefully it will stick this time.

I use Canva to create all the graphics you see on the page! It's free and has lots of great templates to use.
We do have this folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
But it isn't very active. You could also just post on our Discussion thread to see if anyone is interested: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

While it doesn't affect anything now, when the polls are posted midyear, how will I add in my info to allow me to vote? Or should I just use the "https://..." URL that appears in my general browser? Thanks for your help.

You should be good to go now. I just “cleared” all your blank cells and it went from 17 to 15. What likely happened is that you had an extra space before or after the original entry that didn’t get removed when you copied them to their new spots. Or did you original remove the contents of the cell by hitting the space bar in its space? Even though it’s “invisible” to our eyes, Google Sheets still counts that as a filled square because there’s SOMETHING in it.
