I can’t recall a time when I listened to three stories back to back and loved the experience so much!

I finished listening to A Merciful Truth by Kendra Elliot, Mercy Kilpatrick #2, and it was nerve wracking! Here’s my review.

I finished listening to Cutting Edge by Allison Brennan, the final book in the FBI Trilogy, and it was the best and most exciting of the three. Here’s my review.

I finished listening to Sunrise on Half Moon Bay by Robyn Carr and it was pretty special. Here’s my review.

I’m listening to The Boy from the Woods by Harlan Coben.

Inconveniently Betrothed to an Earl by Abby Ayles Inconveniently Betrothed to an Earl: A Clean & Sweet Regency Historical Romance by Abby Ayles on Kindle. ARC
I really enjoyed this book. A betrothal of two people who have never met and the first meeting was not what either of them expected. Trying to find a way to get this called off, they find in doing so, they have found that maybe this marriage wouldn't be so bad. Yet, someone is trying to scare off the two's marriage with threats of death and violence. When horrible things begin to happen, the Lord's son has his son now betrothed to another. It is a topsy-turvy, intriguing, mysterious, suspenseful and precious romance story. the characters were wonderful and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys clean historical romance stories with suspense thrown in. 5 stars

Haunted By The Past (Friends In Crisis #1) by Lucy Appadoo Haunted By The Past by Lucy Appadoo in PDF form
This story is an edge of your seat thriller. Bella has been bullied, abused and harassed her entire life. Now trying to start new with her own counseling business, she finds she is being stalked and is getting threatening emails and text messages. And people from her past are being murdered. Detective Marco Petrazini is on the murder cases and hers. Marco makes her feel safe and she finds herself falling for him. This is a suspenseful thriller. I did not see the ending coming. I was caught off guard. The cons I had for this book was I felt it was so choppy. It kept going back and forth with flashbacks, which were italicized and dialogue from the killers, also italicized. I had to reread to figure out what was going on. I never really understood or got Bella's whole past. Very broken up. It is very graphic with some harsh language. It had a great story line, but I just couldn't understand most of it. 3 stars

Hi Robin,

I like this one and some of her other trilogies. I think my favorite trilogy is "The Gallaghers of Ardmore." I love how she shared parts of Ireland with us in that series. My favorite books from that series are - "Jewel of the Sun" and "Tears of the Moon."

The second book was called "Tears of The Moon." It is my favorite book from the series - but I also like - Jewel of The Sun. That is the first book in the series. Heart of the Sea, the last book, was my least favorite out of the series.

What the Wicked Lord Desires by Henrietta Harding What the Wicked Lord Desires: A Historical Regency Romance Book from the Seductive Ladies and Wicked Lords Collection by Henrietta Harding on Kindle. ARC
Lady Alice thinks she has everything she has ever dreamed of. A handsome husband, a title and home of her own. Her husband Cecil was far from the perfect man. He seemed to enjoy belittling her. And the house maid was atrocious. Cecil is found by the side of the road almost beaten to death. He is brought back to the house to die with Alice by his side. Being heartbroken and finding out that her late husband was a scoundrel and in debt to many. She will lose everything. at the funeral Lord Timothy came to collect money her husband owed him and is cynical and rude. He continues to badger and goad her even after she moves in with dear friends. After treating the Lady of the house, Alice decides she would like to work more with medicinal herbs and healing potions. Many she learned from her late uncle. Her new friend Freda and herself decide to start a business. Which is most uncommon for women, and seeing both are widows and have lost the upper crust of society, they know it will be difficult. Timothy is really no help at first. This story had a great story line, but I found the characters very immature and unrealistic. Timothy was an arrogant, cruel person I felt. Not much better than Alice's first husband. So I find it hard to believe she would fall in love with him. Alice was very fickle, child like and temperamental. She had no back bone even though the author tried to write it as such. It just never all came together for me. Needing a lot of editing. 2 stars

Reading on Kindle, "The Cowboy Falls For the Veterinarian by Natalie Dean. Book 3 of the Miller Brothers of Texas series. ARC
The story of the middle son of the Miller clan Sterling and an African American woman Elizabeth, who just got fired from her job as Veterinarian Assistant. Her car has broken down right outside of the mega rich estate of the Millers. Sterling finds her and being the considerate man offers to take her into town to get a tow. Until his phone rings and finds out one of the sows is in grave need of help with a delivery. Elizabeth hear's this and goes into work mode and takes over the entire situation. She is quite the shock to Sterling and the other hands. What she finds at the pens is appalling and just can't understand how with people that are so rich care nothing for their stock. Sterling hires her on the spot to get the pens and animals up to par, against of course, his egotistical, crude father. Working together brings Elizabeth and Sterling closer together. Having several different barriers to cross may be a challenge. This was an interesting story. I really felt that Sterling was very immature for a woman like Elizabeth. He reminded he of a high school boy. But all in all, it was a clean, sweet romance. 4 stars

Under the Seductive Lady's Charm by Henrietta Harding Under the Seductive Lady's Charm by Henrietta Hardings "Seductive Ladies and Wicked Lord's" collection. ARC
Charlotte is the daughter of the late Vicar, and now with the death of her only sibling, she has taken to caring for the new vicar and his family. It is not what she had thought her life to be. After a chance meeting with an old acquaintance, she now has taken to be Amanda's ladies maid of the Easterly estate. Charlotte always had a crush on Lord Graham Easterly, Amanda's brother, since her and Amanda were children playing together. But Charlotte finds out that Amanda isn't the best of friend to her and finds her very devious and sometimes, downright cruel. Lord Easterly is very upset with his sister for this. In plays the even more devious Lord Stanhope who decides to pursue both ladies after he meets them both at a ball. He is a scoundrel and only looking for money. The back and forth of the two women's relationship, and the uncertain relationship of Charlotte and Graham is quite entertaining. A very sweet, fun, historical romance. No five stars for review because the editing was atrocious in this book. I had to re read many lines over to understand. But all in all, a very delightful love story. 4 stars

The Secret Love of a Scandalous Lady by Henrietta Harding The Secret Love of a Scandalous Lady by Henrietta Hardings "Seductive Ladies and Wicked Lord's" collection. ARC
Book three in the Seductive Ladies and Wicked Lord Collection. After the death of her mother, Madalene Reid's father sends her to London to her great aunts, the Lady Stenton, to join the Season and learn the lessons of a being a lady. She is also forced to leave the man she loves. Benjamin Grant, one she has known from childhood. The promise each other that they will wed when she returns. But as time creeps past, they grow into different people and Benjamin hears from his distant cousin in London that Madalene has many suitors and may be getting betrothed to Lord Hayword. Madalene is angry and hurt that Benjamine just suddenly stopped corresponding with her. So when she has to return home with Lady Stenton, she demands answers. Benjamin is also angry and hurt as Madalene never told him the truth of her time in London. Benjamin's distant cousin Selena has plans now she needs to put into work as she has always had her eye on him and refuses to let Madalene have him. This book has many twists and turns, suspense and of course romance. The back and forth of the relationship between Madalene and Benjamin is very interesting. And Lady Stenton is a very amusing character. Happy Endings are always enjoyable to read when getting there is so exciting. I didn't give it a 5 star review because the editing was again atrocious!

A Forbidden Gamble for the Duke’s Heart A Clean & Sweet Regency Historical Romance by Abby Ayles A Forbidden Gamble for the Duke’s Heart: A Clean & Sweet Regency Historical Romance by Abby Ayles in PDF form. ARC
Margaret Clark has rushed back from Paris hearing of her father's illness. Margaret despises her step-mother but needs to care for her father. The Marquess of Winchester wants his daughter to marry before he is gone. Margaret wants to marry for love and her father has always given her that choice and freedom. But her step-mother wants her to marry her nephew, Percy Easton. Who would have known that Margaret would literally "fall" for another man. Out riding she has been thrown by an unruly house and fallen into the arms of the dashing, handsome and fun loving Nicholas Hurley, the Duke of Richmond. After dancing at a ball together, they have grown quite interested in each other and find they have much in common. Percy and Margaret have made a bet that if she finds another man to marry in a months time, Percy will no longer pursue her for marriage. If she does not, they will marry. A lot can happen in a month's time and boy does it ever. There is mystery, suspense, clean, historical romance, evil and treachery in this story. It was a book that was hard to put down. I really enjoyed it. It could have done with better editing though. I would certainly recommend it to all who enjoy historical romances with mystery and suspense. 5 stars

Legacy Of The Heart by Evelyn Boyett Legacy Of The Heart: A Western Historical Romance by Evelyn Boyett on Kindle. ARC
Abby Carlisle was sent to Philadelphia when she was 15 to become a real lady and to get away from that "terrible day." Now ten years later she is going back to the family ranch in Montana for her fathers funeral. She has kept the anger of her father sending her away all this time. What she discovers there is, needless to say, quite interesting. She finds that she is now the full inheritor of the ranch and all its holdings. Mac Prescott is the head foreman of the ranch and is now in charge of showing Abby all the ropes of running a ranch. But they both find out there is someone who does not want her running the ranch. There is mystery, intrigue, suspense and clean romance. I found it to be a delightful story. It definitely needs better editing and proof reading on Kindle.

Murder on the East Coast (Cedar Bay Mystery #11) by Dianne Harman Murder on the East Coast by Dianne Harman on Kindle
A quick getaway for Kelly and Mike to watch a dear friend of hers graduate turns from wonderful to mayhem and murder. Stephanie has worked hard to get her doctorate and so does Stephanie's good friend Julie. Having a toast for the graduates, Stephanie goes to invite Julie only to find her in her room dead, in a pool full of blood. The local sheriff instantly closes the case after finding a transient dead with Julie's ID's. Mike, Kelly's husband is the sheriff from Cedar Bay and finds the whole situation suspicious. He has Kelly go and investigate. REALLY? This story had a lot of potential, but the dialogue was too sappy, the story so unbelievable, way too many characters to keep track of and bad editing. Way too much detail in the demographics of the area and food. Took away from the story line. Glad it was a quick read. 2 stars

Snug Harbor by Rie Anders Snug Harborby Rie Anders in PDF form
A short story of lust and sex. A well enough written story, but no romance from the start. Not especially romantic or believable. Intimate scenes are semi-graphic. I was left asking myself what the point was. Two people who barely know each other and are so called professionals in their fields only think and live sex. John has a younger sister he is raising. The character never developed at all. Just was a problem, sassy mouth kid. The whole thing just had no plot. I enjoy some steamy romance, but to me it was just porn. 2 stars (being generous)

A Bluestocking For The Wicked Duke (Tales Of Tantalising Seduction, #1) by Henrietta Harding A Bluestocking For The Wicked Duke by Henrietta Harding on Kindle
William is forced to duel with a Duke and loses after the Duke has him use a cracked sword. William knows he would have won if not for the cheating Duke. For William's revenge, he plans to seduce the Duke's daughter, Joane, and then just walk away from her. Of course, they discover they are smitten with each other. William's mother wants him to court another woman and settle down. Confusing? Yes! This could have been a very good book, but it was so choppy and not connected at all. It did not stand up to being a historical romance. It had sex but no romance. I got bored of all the inner thoughts they had for each other. The story never came together. Characters were here and there and the ending was awful. Even the extended epilogue didn't answer questions I had. Not one of her better books. Glad it was free. I can't recommend it. 2 stars

A love story with three different couples. Funny how one thinks she loves this one man, he loves another woman, etc. It was a fun story to read and see how this all comes together. There were some discrepancies in some the story. So many times these couples were together where there was no chaperone, which was a big taboo back then. I never figured out the book from the cover. That was very misleading. But, many fun characters, unique in their own ways. A nice clean, historical romance. I would certainly recommend it. 5 stars
