Andrea | 2164 comments Chinese-Canadian forensic accountant Ava Lee is a terrific character, and this series is proving to be pretty reliably good value so far. Here's my review for The Disciple of Las Vegas

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Author Catherine Ryan Hyde is a favourite of many readers for her hopeful, heartwarming books. Seven Perfect Things: A Novel is the first I've read, and it was a happy break between heavier reads.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Fifty Sheds of Grey by British author, C.T. Grey is a clever little parody of THOSE Grey books, takes no time to read, provides a few laughs, and would make the perfect gift for shed-loving dads.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Collected Stories incorporates two previously published collections of short fiction by Australian author, Shirley Hazzard, as well as eight further stories separately published and two unpublished. A mixed bag that will appeal to some, but not every, reader. I’ve had my fill…

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I read the 4th book in Charlie Garratt's Inspector James Given series, Where Every Man, and I'm sure readers of the earlier books would like this one, where he is facing the fast-approaching Nazis in France in 1938.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I also read the 4th book in Graham Brack's delightful Master Mercurius mystery series. Mercurius is a 17th century Dutch minister/priest/university lecturer who has a talent for investigation. The Noose's Shadow is another entertaining adventure!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments The Book of Hidden Wonders, the debut novel by British author Polly Crosby is quite a bit darker than the blurb indicates, and I wasn't as enchanted as I'd hoped.
