Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments The cover and the blurb for The Weight of Small Things by British author, Julie Lancaster appealed when I spotted it on NetGalley, and I am very glad I requested it. This is a brilliant debut novel, very much in the vein of The Trouble with Goats and Sheep by Joanna Cannon, and I had trouble limiting my quotes.

I don't think I've said much more than the book blurb, but let me know if there is anything I should take out or hide when you've read the book yourself as I do hate to have anything that spoils the book for people. I do know what you mean about wanting to go in blind. I often don't read reviews until after I've read the book.

Will do, Carolyn! I like to read the blurb, then forget everything about it, because for some books the blurb tells a lot of the story. I'll check back once I've read it. :)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Aussie author Sarah Thornton's first book in her series, Lapse has a twisty plot with plenty of action.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Interlibrary Loan seemed like an intriguing read when I saw it listed on NetGalley, so I first read, and really enjoyed, A Borrowed Man. But unfortunately, this sequel, Gene Wolfe’s last book before he died, is lacking any proper resolution in the final chapters, giving it an unfinished feel. Sadly, a disappointing sequel.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Thanks to Carolyn for a review that made me want to read the first book in Victoria Helen Stone's Jane Doe series, Jane Doe. Thanks to Wollongong City Libraries for listening to my "suggest to purchase". I am looking forward to more of this brilliantly dark protagonist and luckily I have #2, Problem Child right here.

Your link goes to the book Sharon, not the review (I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes does this!)
