Chris (chrissieml) | 152 comments An interesting story, well-researched for the relevant canal/narrow boat terminologies. It's not a police procedural but more of genealogical mystery mixed in with an old family feud.
I found it very pleasant and comfortable to read, and it kept my interest all the way through. Even the 'put the narrator in deadly peril' scene wasn't too much for my delicate sensibilities!
This was the first Booth stand-alone novel, and I liked it.

Tina Culbertson (tinaculbertson) I wasn't able to get to this one as I had other books and obligations for the month. Now that I see it's a mystery and a genealogical plot I'm sorry I didn't get to it.

Bridget (midge1) | 14 comments I didn't manage to get to this one, either. Although I don't have a particular fondness for narrow-boats or genealogical mysteries, my curiosity has been piqued and I'm currently 12th in the queue at my library to read it.
