Gwen S. (gwen1629) | 449 comments Just concluded reading ’Secret Sisters’ by Jayne Ann Krentz on digital loan from my public library... definitely 4.75/5*****, and loved her engaging writing style. My first new author in 2020 that I am ecstatic about. Go Jayne K!!

Gwen S. (gwen1629) | 449 comments For the first time since joining Goodreads, I completed my reading challenge early, due to this COVID-19 Global Pandemic, by late November 2020. Read 92/70 novels (131%), turned 22,197 pages/21,000 pages (105%), and completed my Color Cover Challenge 15\10(150%) prompts as pledged. Delved into several audio books and podcasts, this is new as I am more a visual person. However 8+ hrs of audio listening, only pans out to 8-11 pages. Oh well!!!;-)

Several novels stood out this year like 'The Cipher' by Isabella Maldonado, a new author to me, and her latina, Nina Guerrera(/Esperanza) the Warrior protag, ''The Stalking Ground' with Mattie and Robo the K-9 team, 'A Broken Bone' by Melinda Leigh part of my favorite writing duo, 'Down Among The Bones' by Vickie McKeehan, and 'The Last Sister' by Kendra Elliot the other half of the duo. My most interesting non fiction was 'A Pocket History of Human Evolution' by Silvana Condemi, along with the Infertily podcast proving man's 'big brain's will always by his downfall. Still need to complete 'The Shape of Family' and 'BitterCreek Falls', so I don't leave these two in my DNF(Did Not Finish) pile for 2020.

Looking forward to read more from the Elliott/Leigh duo and from Maldonado. Plus I need to read 'Dark Matter' by Blake C, and 'The Midnight Library' in 2021, the GR Fiction 2020 winner.

What an awesome reading year; this was one of the few bright highlights of 2020!

See you on the flip side... Pledging 80 novels/ 24,000 pages to be turned!

Happy New Year to my fellow readers and GR Moderators!!

Gwen S. (gwen1629) | 449 comments I forgot 'Secret Sisters' by Jayne Ann Krentz, and audible original 'Donor 9623' podcast of the year. Krentz is another 'new to me' author that I look forward to read more from in 2021 and beyond.

GR now tabulates your 'pages turned' for you in addition to novel's Read ... Awesome, however there is a +2000 page difference between our totals, close to 7 novels!?!?.. Hmmm.
